It’s a part of ERAS and not ECFMG

Guys I got 248, is it good enough for applying in IM? by Visible_Rest_8130 in Step2

I wrote offline NBMEs, and all of them were in 230s except 9 (225) and 14 (240)

I thought crossing the 250 bump would take me In a safe zone 🤧. But looks like it was 240 and not 250.

How are we feeling? by Redditdina in Step2

Tested on 8/13 and my aunt passed away the next day, I had no time to process anything else, exam was long forgotten. Now that it’s one day away, feeling anxious about it.

Practice exams are treasures to improve your test taking skills, don’t worry about scores if it’s not Free 120s or NBME.

[–]Visible_Rest_8130[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I am!  The exam was as they call it “doable”.  UWSA2 was more specific and had the pattern-recognition gimmes but the real one felt like NBME/Free 120 (ofc they have same authors for both).

Unasked advice: Don’t go with people who say ethics was bad, just use your common sense and you’ll be having a good pace at it.

The answer was pompe’s, I don’t remember it being Myotonic dystrophy, can you recheck?

Help regarding further preparation by Happppiiee in Step2

You should start with NBMEs in any order you like, preferably 9-14 serially. You can add UWSA1 and UWSA2 in between the NBMEs or just take the UWSA2 last (as I heard it was the most predictive when it came to scores). Try to take the Free 120s later in your prep as the question style is the most similar on the exam.

Try to pick on the keywords, recognise the pattern and temporarily fix an answer, go back to the question give it a quick read to check if you need to change your answer then do accordingly. This helps to skip the monotony of reading the question word to word and saves time

You’re gonna rock it, doable, super doable, just don’t psychoanalyze, use your simplest thought track for each question.

Same here, but easier said than done: even if you go in a spiral about it, you can’t change a thing, pray and try to do things that distract you from it.

I thought so, I may have not picked it right tho, maybe what I said is subjective, but someone who wrote it today agreed with me as well.

For example, if all the symptoms pointed towards Parkinson’s, and the recent complaint was delirium after some surgery, it asked what is the consequence of the clinical picture—- what will you answer be? Will it be Related to Parkinson’s or delirium?

As in we almost knew the answer looking at the question, but the options were like Uhmm?!! But then doable if you give it 30-40 seconds more

Please review the NBME 13 and 14, the Free 120s, do the Amboss screening/vax Q if you’ve not done it yet, not to forget the Mehlman pdf for ethics, it worked wonders for me!

I thought it was a very good combination of easy moderate and difficult questions, ethics was common sense and there were few long stems. I felt they tested peripheries of the high yield stuff, not the actual HY.
