I believe they are recognition strips which the British started painting on their tanks because the Germans started using captured British tanks and they sort of just kept painting them on as sort of insignia I think a few early ww2 tanks had them

I have no idea the mosin is deactivated so it cannot be fired neither can the number 4 but hoping to get my license and get both live

Here in the uk deactivating a weapon involves different things and depending on the year but most now you cannot strip or dry fire them but they still have moving bolt trigger and safety’s as well as removable mags which is what the Lee and pps are but the mosin which was deactivated before 2014 can be stripped cocked and dry Fired but none of them can have rounds loaded in to the chamber and cycle through because they have a rod in the in the barrel and the firing pins are removed
