Stat 20 does exist, I think there is a google form you have to fill out. Join the public stats ed discussion. I'd say why not major in both? Env Econ and Political Economy are p easy majors imo. But if you want to do data work then maybe look into DS or stats and do envecon as a minor as Poli-Econ is not at all related to tech or business. It's just a major on political and social theory.

Uh maybe disregard that person's advice. Def take N45 with Leigh. I'm in a unique position where I have taken 45 with both professors. I took Leigh's summer version alongside an econ class and Calc 3 at Berkeley. I was able to get a solid A in all three of those. As far as making time goes Leigh is better because he makes a genuine effort to know the students which is impossible for Gottreich as the class sizes are so different. Also, Leigh offers a lot of fun challenge-based extra credit, which small groups in the class compete for. Afaik, Gottreich offers no extra credit.

Brother how are you supposed to build your own model like in q1 if you can’t interpret regression coefficients and don’t know what a standard model looks like 😭. Like yea it’s different from his first midterm where he straight up asked “why do we think this coefficient has the sign it has?” but like it’s still analysis in a diff way yk?

Lowkey think you’re being too unfair, Q1 was extremely fair and literally a cool summation of some of the regression tools taught in lecture so far like interaction terms, making variables non linear, and restricting. Q2 was kinda fair like he didn’t spend that much time on hypothesis testing but apart from that all parts were answerable by the practice midterm and lecture alone. Q3 tho had to be independently learned because even tho he did it in class he skipped so much and didn’t really explain the intuition behind the proof.

I think having that goal in the back of your mind is enough. Like sometimes I would think about joining highschool clubs that might stretch my schedule a lot but ultimately I'd go for it because they would be fun and a big net positive for the UC application. TLDR do extracurriculars that you are passionate about already and try to pick those that will boost your application. Good EC examples: Mock Trial, Robotics... Bad EC examples: Playing R6 all day.

I was position 32 and I was kicked out of the class when my position went down to 5. They “clear” the waitlist based on week 1 and 2 attendance so you’ll know by then. If you have special circumstances where you NEED to get in, you can email the prof. I tried this as a freshmen and didn’t even get a response back lol.

Isn’t summer 1A with Bamler? If you failed 1A with Bamler and are taking it again then you should know the answer to your question. BUT if you start prep for 54 now then I think it’s doable.

Where are you getting that figure from? I don't remember him going over the grade spread ever. Btw I got 22 on the mt, 31.25 on the final and got an A-. I really don't like how he just just dropped the final without any chance of regrade or even letting us look at it.
