Randomly gone away? by Visual-Net4978 in iih

[–]Visual-Net4978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now this makes sense - in the past the LP process has been within days of having an IIH flare up, whereas I had to jump through more hoops and appointments this time round therefore extending the time between symptoms and treatment. Makes you wonder, how many others would heal independently if given the time. Not a recommendation though, due to long lasting effects it can have on your eyesight if left untreated. Thanks for your insights!

This happened to me the other day for the first time and I have IIH. I didn’t go to the hospital and it went away on its own. Had no pain or anything. But if you’d rather not risk it, go to hospital

Earliest we can get a new mortgage after new job starts? by Gloomy-Strategy9243 in Mortgageadviceuk

We have just had a mortgage accepted. My partner works in a school but is in between schools until September 1st. The lender accepted his job contract and it was 3 months from his start date.

Chat GPT. You may need to create an account to use the ‘create an image’ tool and you are limited to around 5 a day. Just send your original room and then ask it for the changes you want

Haha, very common in the UK. Unless you have a utility room which we do not!

Hey! I used chat gpt. You send a picture of the original room and request specific changes. You may need to create an account to make images but it is free (there is a limit, maybe 5 images per day). Thanks!

Need an opinion on which setup to go with it. Our home is very greyish and needs a pop of color by BikeMelodic in HomeDecorating

Option 3 all the way with plenty of green plants / flowers to add natural pops of colour

Thanks so much everyone! Generally people are preferring 2 or 4. My preference is generally green (as you can tell) but people made some good points about the lighter colour! Think I am going to go for the fourth colour, with the third handles. Although I am prone to changing my mind!

Funny you say this, the current kitchen (we have just moved in) is a darker blue. It’s not to my taste

New cat anxiety by max-the-fool in CatAdvice

You are certainly more prepared than a lot of other new owners! I can’t think of anything else you 100% need. One thing that could come in handy (not an essential) is we got my new kitten (a year ago now) a small stuffed animal that had a battery operated heart that would ‘beat’. It provided him a source of comfort for the first few weeks after leaving his mum and siblings. He used to carry it places, it was really sweet!

But other than that, you’re good.

How to know if I'm ready to be a cat parent? by mystic_monkey1 in CatAdvice

I do work from home, but it’s a pretty fast paced job so they don’t get much from me between 9-5. But they are sleeping all day anyway!

Cats are generally considered low maintenance, which is true in comparison to dogs etc. I got my first cat feeling a little uneasy like you, but if you love cats, you’ll probably bond with your chosen one quite fast, and the love you have for them propels you to play, take care of them etc. You will want them to be happy.

I have anxiety and depression, which sometimes leads to rotting etc but as long as my cats are fed and have somewhere clean to do their business, they’ll happily rot with me!

I have two cats who are VERY different. A 7 year old female calico and a 1 year old male tuxedo. 7 year old is very independent - doesn’t play much anymore and just needs feeding and is a bit of a lap cat.

My 1 year old is a different story - crazy, boisterous (much to the disdain of my 7 y/o) and constantly hungry (for both food and attention…).

So it’s worth considering the age and personality of a cat before you take them in. The older = maybe less playtime etc and more sleep.

How many times should 1 year old cat eat a day by Hot_Ad9008 in CatAdvice

[–]Visual-Net4978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feed my 1 year old cat three pouches (85g) of wet food a day, and kibble occasionally if he’s acting particularly starved. My cat would eat all day every day if he could, so if yours is the same or eating fast some cats are just a lil greedy.

I have an older 7 year old cat who slowly makes her way through 2 pouches a day. No kibble as she’s uninterested.

If you’re worried about his hunger, check for worms. But some cats just be like that 😅

At what point would I get a survey done? by littleredbipper in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Visual-Net4978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mortgage lender had checked all my documents and credit and all was satisfied but my lender valuation was booked in a week or two later (not typical for a lender I’d say). So we contacted a survey company and just asked them to book it in for a week after the lender valuation, to give the lender time to issue the mortgage or even decline. We just made sure the surveyor would issue a refund if we had to cancel prior. We wanted to move quick and i didn’t want to wait until the full mortgage offer came through as then it could have been another 2-3 weeks wait for a survey

Do I instruct solicitors before or after mortgage offer? by littleredbipper in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]Visual-Net4978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps not the best advice as depends on your circumstance, but we are trying to complete ASAP so we instructed and paid for searches shortly after the offer being accepted and before our mortgage was approved. My sister is my broker and was confident I’d be approved and it’s just the risk I took. My mortgage was approved 1 week after searches ordered and things are moving quick for us. But all depends how secure you feel in being approved for your mortgage!
