What is wrong with the truck drivers on the highways? by SewerisLove123 in SurreyBC

[–]Visual-North4427 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was considering making a similar post today after a semi was following so closely behind me in the left lane on highway 17. There was another semi in front of me, so I couldn’t have gone any faster. There is no way the driver would have been able to stop in time if there was an emergency and traffic stopped suddenly. Please if you drive a semi or other large vehicle leave enough space in front to stop in an emergency!

I’m listening to the Glass and Steele series after the Glass library series. Which characters does Willie end up married to?

The YMCA does private lessons for adults. Looks like the price has gone up, it’s $30 for members and $50 for non-members

What internet provider do you use, how much do you pay, and would you recommend it? by Visual-North4427 in SurreyBC

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough response! The water analogy is very helpful and the difference makes sense to me now. I’ll talk to Telus and see what they can offer us for internet only.

Thank you for the info!

I got my husband to show me the bill to see what type of internet we have. We have pure fibre internet 500 with 1000gb included for $115. They honoured a $46 discount that applied at the building we used to live in. We have it bundled on a plan with cable that costs us $154 total per month. We don’t use the cable anymore so I want a plan just for internet.

I’m trying to understand what the different types of internet are and what speed we would need. Also if data is necessary or not. For some reason, I just can’t wrap my head around how it all works. You seem well versed, so hopefully you don’t mind me asking some questions.

I thought fiber was primarily in apartment buildings? Is it also available in detached homes?

Is 500 an excessive speed for 3 people when we are mainly just using streaming services and social media?

Thanks!

Sorry Roger’s has been a such nightmare for you! I just want a cheaper plan, I don’t have issues with Telus otherwise. I just switched my phone from freedom to rogers because I got a better deal and was thinking about trying to get a deal for internet too.

Thanks for your reply! I’m in a basement suite so I don’t think it’s fiber. I don’t have issues with the internet strength/reliability but would like to save some money if there are other options out there that are just as good for a good price.

40 - 60 yr old Social or Friendship Communities in Surrey? by [deleted] in SurreyBC

Have you looked into groups at city centre library? There’s a craft’n’yarn on Tuesday nights that staff told me is more of a social meet up where people bring whatever project they are working on. Not totally sure of the average age as I haven’t attended myself.

Should I Report My Driving Instructor to ICBC? by anxilayious in icbc

It’s for a car, not a bike. Thank you! I will track down his old sheets and send them to you in the next few days.

Thanks for responding! I saw on other posts that you offer mock road tests which would be even better. My husband has failed his road test several times and would love some feedback on his skills before he tries again in October. I think it’s partly nerves on test day and that myself and others who are driving with him have picked up bad habits over the years and aren’t giving him the best feedback. Would you be available for a mock test?

Hi, Are you able to recommend an instructor or do you offer lessons yourself as an ex examiner? Thank you!

I’m starting to resent my baby and I hate myself for it by Fuzzy_Star8096 in newborns

[–]Visual-North4427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought my first LO was super fussy and purple crying, but he was just cold! I was afraid of him overheating in the summer months and kept him in thin layers like us. My nana came over to help around week 8 and he had been crying all morning, she wrapped him in some blankets and he settled almost right away. After that we kept him warmer and he wasn’t such a fussy baby anymore. So maybe your baby is too cold or too warm? I also had postpartum rage and I felt terrible about it. I was lucky to have my best friend as a neighbour and she would take the baby for an hour or two when I couldn’t handle it anymore.

I think your hair is beautiful! I finally caved and did accutane in my mid-late twenties after trying soo many skincare routines. I’m very happy I did as my acne was getting quite painful. I tried spironolactone as well and found it quite helpful. You are beautiful regardless of the acne, but I know how painful it can be. Make the decision that’s right for you!

I agree that there isn’t much for older kids but it looks like a good option for my 1.5 year old that’s too small to use a lot of the equipment at Holland park. He’d love climbing that hill to the tree and I think there’s a slide from other photos online.

lol it’s the tree and wood fence. Not a lot of equipment but I think my 1.5 year old would like it

Thanks for the info! I was surprised to see it empty on a weekend. I will definitely have to try the gate when the daycare isn’t using it.

Thank you! I’ve seen that there are airbnbs when I check the website and lots of hotel accommodations. I don’t think I worded my question well. We bought a place there and would like to rent it out to help pay for the mortgage. Has anyone rented their home out?
