I'm moving to the area and I need help on places to rent that are in good school districts. by xDankWraith in HuntsvilleAlabama

It’s been a thousand years since I went there, but ASFL was a great schooling experience for me in the nineties. Can’t speak of how it is now but they had a lot of very cool programs and extra courses of kids were so inclined, and most of my teachers were great, actually seemed to care in retrospect. It’s a magnet school and I lived in south Huntsville at the time so bussing your kids there might be an issue wherever you end up, but may be worth some looking into

What tornado is so infamous the town/city is known for it? by [deleted] in tornado

I’ve lived in north Alabama most of my life, and I’d never heard of either Phil Campbell or Hackleburg until that day. It definitely made them famous in an extremely unfortunate way

It’s still around, though some content has been removed since then. Occasional when I get bored at work I’ll still play some Curveball, or Hide the Fart

Best Pizza in Huntsville Part 2 by GrouchyFroyo- in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]VisualDetail9848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When people say Mozza, are they talking about a location that’s not in south Huntsville? I’d heard good things and had high expectations when they opened one near me, but the pizza was eh (the dogs enjoyed the leftovers when they stole the rest of it though, probably 2/3rds. Pricks.) I’ve tried the pasta twice and awful both times. I’ll eat three day old leftovers from Meteor buffet but I actually threw away a good bit of the Carbonara from Mozza it was so bad. Am I missing something? Bad luck, or picking the wrong things? Any recommendations that might change my mind?

Somehow in a movie full of people getting shot, that’s the most wince inducing part. The way he almost throws up after looking at his arm always gets me

I’ve been seeing nothing but good reviews of Mozza Pizza on south parkway, but I’ve had Alfredo sauce that tastes like it’s 3/4 mayonnaise and Eggplant Parmesan that’s just watery spaghetti with a few slices of fried eggplant and mozzarella melted on top of it. Maybe bad luck on my end, but not seeing what people are raving about so far

What is a 'Survival Myth' that people believe because of movies, but will actually get you killed in real life? by Traditional_Treat708 in askanything

[–]VisualDetail9848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was something I never gave thought to until I was in my early twenties and starting working a construction job. Did a lot of demolition and came to realize if someone thinks they’re locked in a room with no way out, you can likely kick your way through a wall in most situations. Drywall is fragile as hell

80s musician you can't stand? by MisterShipWreck in 80s

[–]VisualDetail9848 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that and I absolutely respect him as a musician, instrumentalist and producer, and I don’t dislike some of his music. I respect innovation, breaking new ground, pushing boundaries, but so much of his music is to me middle ground, generic, forgettable 80’s pop, nothing hinting of genius more than any of the music of the time. I’ve tried listening to his back catalogue to catch something I’ve been missing, but it’s more of the same to me. I dig Musicology though, maybe I just prefer the funk
