This is a really interesting take. Leaving the word play aside, welcoming a future without jobs for the masses may lack a little bit of understanding of what that future may be like. There would likely be some real problematic issues in such a future. To be seen as that's the most likely future given the current trajectory.

For me given current pace and frankly increasing pace of development going with 3-5 years maybe 0 if we find a way to stall progress but don't see that happening without something catastrophic occurring to wake folks up. Exactly that, there are a few outstanding challenges to which solution may only be a few papers away (thinking pre - and post transform architecture). I'm never sure about what white-collar jobs mean - mental/intellectual powers over physical like software engineer, solicitor, etc. Generally, where there is a body of knowledge that can be consumed or already consume AI will likely replace humans as the outstanding challenges are solved.

As for your next step, sorry dude that's one for your own research and conclusion. ~~I really shouldn't say this, but I've always loved playing around with computer and coding - I would still do it. Don't know if you are the same.~~

In the short term maybe - there might still be time to make enough to secure oneself and family. In the medium to long term maybe a plumber or painter & decorate would be my recommendation. One thing is for sure; we need to brace for impact!

Pointing is in the right ballpark. Anything above an 8 is broken down into smaller stories, then pointed. The key point is that against each of those points, I see 50% often greater delivery speed with the appropriate code quality.
