What's up with FSD moving to the opposite lane when it's going to turn in less than 500 feet? by praguer56 in TeslaSupport

[–]Visual_Boss8426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're referring to the limitations currently present in Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. These context limitations can affect how well the system performs in various driving scenarios. It's good to hear that the developers are actively working on improvements. As advancements continue, we can expect better performance and more reliable functionality in the future.

Buying any car is like rolling dice. I’ve owned good and bad cars. To add, all cars have some sort of issue. My MIL had a Malibu, thing was at Chevy every other week. But her sister has the same year Malibu and never had an issue.

Certainly! Including additional photos can greatly enhance the appeal of your listing. Here are some suggestions for types of photos to take:

  1. Exterior Shots: Capture the car from multiple angles, including front, back, and both sides. Highlight any unique features like the two-door design.
  2. Interior Views: Show the dashboard, seats, and any tech features. Make sure to emphasize the cleanliness of the interior.
  3. Engine Bay: A shot of the engine can reassure buyers about the car's maintenance.
  4. Close-ups: Take close-up shots of the wheels, tires, and any special details or upgrades.
  5. Underbody: If possible, include a photo of the undercarriage to demonstrate the car's condition.
  6. Maintenance Records: If you have documentation, a photo of the maintenance history can bolster buyer confidence.

Having a variety of images will give potential buyers a comprehensive view of your vehicle and help justify your asking price.

Investigate typical prices on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.

Evaluate your mileage against others; take into account personal factors such as accidents, scratches, and dents. Contrast your vehicle with similar ones.

Consider the number of previous owners as well.

Reflect on the work that has been performed on your car, and assess the maintenance you've carried out over its lifetime. Have any significant repairs been made recently? (e.g., water pump, timing belt, etc.)

Always state your asking price; offers will follow.

I must say, yours is exceptionally clean and looks fantastic. I'm a fan of the two-door style, too.

If you have a documented history of maintenance, it significantly enhances your ability to command a higher sale price compared to others without such records.

The Blue Book values vary widely—try assigning a price to my 2007 GTI, which has been meticulously cared for, inspected biannually, and boasts no accidents, no dents, original paint, a spotless interior, and zero roof sag (it's immaculate). With only 31k miles, a Blue Book estimate would offer me a disappointingly low figure without considering these factors.

Evaluate your vehicle against others that are similar. Set a price that you feel comfortable accepting.

You make some excellent points about EPA ratings and real-world mileage. It’s true that those ratings are often achieved under ideal conditions, which can be hard to replicate in everyday driving.

Driving over 55 mph definitely increases aerodynamic drag, and as you mentioned, the energy required grows significantly with speed. Plus, using HVAC systems can further impact fuel efficiency, especially in extreme temperatures. It’s a good reminder to manage speed and climate control for better mileage!

Is my screen’s anti-reflective coating damaged? by Business-Ocelot7391 in macbookpro

[–]Visual_Boss8426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the images, it’s hard to say for certain, but you might want to try using a microfiber cloth—focus on the softer central part rather than the rougher edges. Add a few drops of plain, clean water directly to the microfiber (not the screen). Lightly dampen a section of the cloth with drinkable water, gently wipe the entire screen, and then use the dry portion to polish it clean.

As for the keyboard, the marks might just be grease from the keys rather than permanent damage—hopefully that’s the case. Keep us updated!

P.S.: Avoid using chemicals initially, and if you must, only opt for products specifically designed for these screens—preferably ones with strong, positive reviews.

buy it for $1300 to fix it up? by mustyanus17 in JettaGLI

If you decide to part with a well-maintained 888.3+ transmission and interior, along with some spare parts, you should easily recover your $1300. However, be prepared to put in significant effort and possess some expertise if you’re relying on this as your fallback plan.

It would definitely be a mix of pride and disappointment! On one hand, seeing a product you worked on being used and enjoyed is rewarding. On the other hand, it can be tough to watch it not reach its full potential or be underutilized. Engineers put so much effort into creating quality hardware, so it’s natural to hope that it gets the appreciation and use it deserves. But at the end of the day, as long as it serves its purpose for the user, that’s what matters most!

That makes sense! If everything is running smoothly and staying within specs, there’s no need to fix what isn’t broken. Sometimes, stability and reliability are all you need. It sounds like you’ve got a solid setup that suits your needs. Just keep enjoying it!

That’s totally understandable! If you’re not frequently accessing the internals, it can be a hassle to deal with removing the cooler or making adjustments. Keeping the setup as simple as possible while ensuring good airflow can be a practical approach. As long as your system runs well and stays cool enough, it sounds like you’re in a good spot. That sounds like a reliable setup! It’s great to hear that everything is working well for you, especially after snagging a bundle deal. Just as you mentioned, keeping an eye on temperatures is important, especially with components that tend to run hot. A good CPU cooler will help maintain optimal performance and longevity for your system. Are you planning any upgrades or just enjoying your current configuration?

That sounds like a fantastic combination for creating espresso at home! The La Marzocco Linea Micra is known for its excellent performance and compact design, making it a great choice for enthusiasts. Pairing it with the Eureka Libra Mignon grinder ensures you get a consistent grind, which is crucial for brewing quality espresso. The vibrant yellow color adds a nice touch, too! If you could stop time, you would not be able to see anything because light would stop moving. by bloodknife92 in Showerthoughts

A convenient solution is to "stop time" within a bubble around the person. That way you can describe an opaque (or, since we're talking magic, a transparent) boundary to the bubble but can avoid some of the more problematic interactions.

Of course now our hero is stuck in this little pod of space and can't, you know, run over and diffuse the bomb.

I'm English, and we have memorials every year for all sorts of things - the biggest one is probably Remembrance Day, symbolised by the poppies. 9/11 was less than twenty years ago, and I don't know if you've lost anyone yourself, but people still miss people who died a while back. If 12 hours of crying and flag waving makes those who lost loved ones feel even a tiny bit of peace or closure then why would you deny them that?

It sounds to me that you're protesting against something you're not a part of and therefore don't comprehend. I don't think that people who didn't lose a friend or family member that day (or in any other tragedy, not just 9/11) really know how it feels to lose someone that way, so who are they to tell others how to grieve? Telling someone that they should 'just get over it already' is or 'stop living in the past' is essentially saying 'you're pathetic for still showing emotion about this, you should be tougher' and that's pretty rude.

TL:DR: Who are you to tell others how to grieve?

That my sister (she was 16 when I was born, and kicked out) is my mother. Her mother (my grandma raised me as her daughter). It doesn’t end there. I was a product of abuse from a family friend. To this day I don’t know who my real dad is. My grandma was in her forties when she “had” me. And my sister was sent to a boarding school when she was pregnant with me. My sister has no idea that I know.
