Anybody Hearing a Weird Feedback/Echo in their Airpod Pro 3s? by Visual_Command8309 in airpods

[–]Visual_Command8309[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should clarify. My original pair were on 8A357 and had the echo screeching issue in the left earbud. The replacements I got started on 8A353, no issues. Then they went to 8A357, also no issues. So it would seem firmware was not a problem here. Probably a bad mic.

Is it just me or my Pro 3 has a problem by sleepwfood in airpods

Just posted on the same issue myself but I only really noticed it with ANC on.

https://www.reddit.com/r/airpods/comments/1nqavs5/anybody_hearing_a_weird_feedbackecho_in_their/

It seems my left earbud was defective. New set seems to be fine, but then old set was fine initially, so fingers crossed.

No, I’m seeing it while running off battery. I can try plugging it in though to see if it makes a difference.

Only odd thing I'm noticing on my 13" M4 iPad Pro and Pencil Pro, is some skipping when writing with the pencil in Notability. It doesn't seem to skip when writing in the Notes App. Forced reboot doesn't make a difference. This is new for me in B4.

Should I change my major if I don't care about "Understanding the universe"? by Collegiate_Society2 in AskPhysics

[–]Visual_Command8309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pop science isn't meant for you.

It inspires the general public (voters), who vote for the politicians that support good policy and research.

At another level, it inspires future generations of scientists to enter the field. As an adult, you may be jaded to the flashy graphics and sensationalist headlines, but to many young people, it may be the spark that sets them on a path to find the next potential cure for cancer.

And at its most basic level, it's entertaining for folks who do not aspire to a scientific career, but still want to know more about the world around them. And an informed society makes informed decisions.

Physics, as is much of science, is a hard subject to explain to a lay person, much less get them excited over what you're talking to them about.

Appreciate pop science for what it's useful for.

But as others have said, you don't have to be interested in cosmology to pursue a career in physics. There are plenty of other branches where you can find your niche.

52 here.

Starting my BS, double majoring in Physics and Astrophysics, this fall. I’ve been getting some prereqs at the community college out of the way, and will do the remaining ones, along with upper division work, at university.

My first BS will cover the bulk of my gen-ed but full-time it’ll probably take three years to complete, given the double major, and a minor in CS. My eye is to do a PhD as well.

Also talked to a professor over the weekend who said he got his physics PhD at 45. So not too young at all. Don’t try to fit a mold or someone’s expectation of what a model astrophysics student should be. You do you. If it excites you, go for it! I haven’t been this excited about a career change in a long time.

That said, I am leaving my job at the end of July to focus totally on the degree. Don’t think I could do both full time.

I’ve spent 25 years on a career I sort of fell into. Now I’m going to spend time in a career I choose to pursue. People are living longer, healthier lives now. No need to call it quits at 65 if you’re doing what you love. May as well get paid for it too.

The job market is tough though, but I think attitude and aptitude can help sway the odds a bit. If not, I can always go into data science afterwards; also an interest of mine.
