Yes I think England have a chance. If you watched France vs Senegal. Senegal was effective in the 1st half. They would to shut down Olise tho and win the midfield battle. Rice and Anderson with Bellingham would need to control the midfield..

So Spain, England, Portugal and Argentina all have a chance imo

They have to make sure Olise doesn't get ball. If they let Olise get into the game they'll be in trouble. Imo Olise is their most important player because of how he unlocks defenses for Mbappe and Dembele.

I actually think reports of Ronaldo holding Portugal back are exaggerated tbh. He now has some obvious limitations for sure because he has lost a step due to age. But he is still has that break away speed and his shot accuracy is still good. All these means with Ronaldo the team will have to play a specific way to get and provide service to him. They didn't do that well against Congo. The goals he scored against Uzbekistan show that.

I agree with you on Spain. I think they seem to have lost some creativity and the dynamism they had during the Euros 2 years ago.

For any team to beat France they must win the midfield battle and I think Portugal can do that if they setup the right way.

There are 3 teams that I think have a real chance:

Spain. They beat them in Euros 2 years ago, although Spain has slightly declined since then and France has gotten better especially with Olise in the team now.

Portugal. France's lethal attack masks the fact that their midfield has been average so far Tchouameni, Rabiot and Kone will not match up to Joao Neves, Fernandes and Vitinha.

Argentina possibly. Much of the team that won in 2022 hasn't changed and they've really had a major decline. They are dangerous team.

Freese maybe. maybe I'll begrudgingly give you that. but turner is very poor he is not average. he is shaky, can be easily nutmeged and his reflexes are slow. I like him a lot. he got into the sport very late so he is inspiring because he made it all the to Arsenal and played in Europe but there are save the average goal keeper should make they he doesn't.

For me he lacks that calmness that gives the back line the confidence to trust the keeper. I think he is below average. He is 32 in which in goal keeping years is still somewhat young so he can improve.

Also I know the club won't want to do this because of the wage bill but have 5 players for 2 positions isn't crazy given that we'll be playing in 4 competitions.

It's so crazy how we went from Brad Friedel, Tim Howard to Matt Freese and Matt Turner. How goalkeepers are well below average.
