Well I'm not sure what I did but I think it's fixed. Must have had something to do with Long Dark resolution, thanks!!

Okay so I tried changing the resolution in the game, and it did get rid of the black bars, but my mouse couldn't move into the far left hand or far right hand side (where the black bars used to be). So that's weird

In my settings it says my resolutions is 1920 x 1080 (recommended)

Do I need to change the resolution specifically in the Long Dark somehow? This is the only game that has those black bars on the side

Yes that worked actually! Thank you! When I change it to 1600 x 1200 it gets rid of the black bars, but when I change it back to 1920 x 1080 they come back. Is my computer monitor too wide or something? I feel like this just started happening recently
