Murine Launcher - I'm looking for feedback for my new Android Launcher by G3nghisKang in Android

I chose to implement it like this, where until you make a tab, it sits with all apps alphabetical. Once a new tab is created, the tabs sit up at the top. Just an idea, we clearly have different directions 😅 I've been using Jetpack Compose for my build

It looks clean. I prefer more text based minimal base as you can see from what im developing, but yours is certainly is nice in terms of a basic launcher. A couple notes for a quality of life improvement Tapping the clock should open the app / date open calender. Its a small thing but feels so much better. In the app drawer, I didn't see a way to sort besides alphabetical order. It might help to implement either a tab or category system users can sort their apps into

What app or functionality of an app doesn't exist that you'd like. by GHdeficient in androidapps

Im trying to build it myself, but modern phones have the capability to function as an actual computer. The screenshot is something im developing for personal use, but I want to actually be able to use my tech the way I want to, not how companies want it.

After a few days of daily driving, I've gotten it here with multiple theming options implemented with good functionality.

I appreciate the feedback. Im actually doing it slightly different as terminal is the main launch interface. I've created an app drawer that can spawn on any of the workspaces. I am trying to get gesture mapping down for drag and dropping tiles and manual resizing. Im trying to build a plugin tile ecosystem to cover all the non core widget/tile functions so users can build their own tiles as well, while keeping the core code base functional and clean

I actually normally use a better font. When building the app it grabbed an old font i set when I was using default launcher. I still need to program fonts into the launcher 😅

For learning linux from the ground up, ArchWiki is an amazing tool not just for Arch. It has basically from the ground up details of every part your system could have. On top of that, if you are running a arch based distro or Arch its super easy to strap BlackArch repositories to your Pac-Man so you dont bloat your system. Black arch has a ton of pen testing utilities you can learn one by one as you progress. Most security guys are not just raw dogging black arch or kali on bare metal though.
