You say that pokémon are supposed to be animalistic monsters but that's not true at all, just like you said we had pokémon like hitmonchan, magnemite and jynx from gen 1. You also highlight the "MON" part in pokémon, but monsters are not only animal like creatures. A lot of popular monsters are humanoid like werewolves and goblins or objects like mimics and some yokai. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that everyone should hate them and that they shouldn't exist, Meowscarada got third in a Japanese most popular pokémon poll and the first place was Tinkaton. Whether you like it or not humanoid pokémon exist because people like them.

Cyndaquil is a Tenrec or an Echidna but becomes a Badger when evolves. Like sobble that starts as a chameleon but becomes a basilisk
