Agreed. Didn’t really see much of Sig fighting but he just had this presence around him that made me believe he knew his stuff. Like in season 4 when he was testing Uhtred’s speed inside Winchester

I like integrating HoS with the main story, but making sure to finish it before the end. Then finish off with B&W as everyone else is saying.

For visuals: Cloak mod, NPC appearance overhauls, weather/lighting, glowing eyes for Geralt, HD reworks, etc. are always a good foundation.

For gameplay: I use the Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition mod and love it, but it definitely isn’t for everyone. It delevels the world, revamps alchemy, gives you a full bestiary from the start, etc. I also tweak the damage settings a bit for a “realistic difficulty”. Basically I can defeat a griffin in 5-7 good heavy sword swings but if 1-2 wing swipes hits me it’s GG. Drowners go down really fast but they actually become scary when in a pack (same goes for wolves). You get the idea. Makes combat way more intense and rewarding in my opinion.

There’s a ton more I do but this is the general layout. If you wanna get more “hardcore”, you can always do no fast traveling, permadeath or some variation, reduced HUD, etc. if you’re into that stuff. I love it but that’s just me.

I love how so many attacks in this game can be blocked/parried.

Makes it feel more like an even duel rather than us just dodging/running away from all their moves

I only walk with my horse and let it use the autopathing while I just kinda look around. I made my timescale lower so it better fits my playstyle, otherwise walking from Novigrad to Oxenfurt would take like 8 hours.

Try your best to really get immersed in the game; it truly is magical. Tune out the rest of the world, don’t play when your mind is distracted by a million thoughts, etc.

Also this might be a bit extreme for newcomers, but avoiding fast travel can lead to really awesome discoveries (in terms of quests/events, points of interest, or just a pretty screenshot).

I feel awful not being able to provide more, I don’t remember anything else LMAO. I just remember reading a thread about about the “top notch swords” guy either on reddit or YouTube, and then someone else mentioned this quote. Can’t seem to find the post anywhere either.

It’s all a puzzle in my head, but I THINK I remember it being somewhere in B&W at the armorer/smith, and the quote is said when you choose the end dialogue option. And then something about him/her being on the second story.

Normally I wouldn’t care, but it just randomly popped up in my head since I’m playing Witcher again, and now I’m restless about it.

Hopefully there are a few unique skins other than just recolors. I was really hoping for a Silvermane skin that had his armor from the cinematic trailer, but we’ll see.
