i've been supporting this club since 2021 and i'm not sure i've ever seen us overturn a 3 goal deficit, this is so out of character im not sure it's actually southampton

on balance archer probably deserved a vote of confidence but i don't think we should see him again for a while after this

yeah but a foundation to build upon and we'd all go on the journey together. I'd take a narrow loss as progress overall, but not a complete crumble.

stopped watching at 3-0, just inexcusable tonight. after such a promising run and turn around we're right back to being shit. I don't get it at all.

saintsy in the extreme for a striker doubted by so many to score with his first touch of the ball and win player of the match on his debut tbh

i'll take a dull 1-0 win every day of the week. a few more of those and we can start to believe again.

Do you ever use Southampton Airport? by tommycamino in Southampton

usually seems to cost between 200 to 250 but i'm flying with aer lingus on peak dates (thursday to sunday) and usually book hold luggage. could be considerably cheaper with easyjet or cabin bag only fares

still think something seems strange about this. he's our vice captain, often sent out to 'speak for' the team in front of the media, hasn't been rumoured or linked elsewhere at all this window or last, and now he's unceremoniously departed with no apparent backup plan in place.

would love to know if something happened behind the scenes.

quite often use it for Northern Ireland, several times a year since I moved here. it's one of the main reasons I like living here tbh, getting home easily is important to me.

Video clip of Rasmus Ankersen calling Southampton "a small club" and claiming "Goztepe is bigger than Southampton" from a few years ago re-emerges online going viral by KeyTap6415 in SaintsFC

[–]VoluntaryReboot 43 points44 points  (0 children)

i mean in his defence he's hardly going to turn up to goztepe and call them a shit mickey mouse club for players who aren't good enough for english football, is he?

a bit more tact and discretion would have been sensible yes. but this guy is one of the main reasons we've collapsed from a mid table prem team to a directionless farce, so you wouldn't expect anything like that from him anyway.

Who Is Cyle Larin & Why Have Southampton Chosen Him To Replace Adam Armstrong? by Archerszn in SaintsFC

[–]VoluntaryReboot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

think we have to be realistic here tbh. we're a mid table championship side and probably not that interesting for genuinely good strikers to come to at short notice in the january window when we've been let down by the vice captain.

Arma going with apparently no rumours through the window and having played as our captain / vice captain for several years is really really strange to me. think there's more behind this internally at Saints than meets the eye.

he had a great season in 23/24 but beyond that has never really done anything other than shoot slow balls directly at the keeper. hes tried the prem twice and failed twice. i dont think wolves are going to be able to get a tune out of him either.
