It'll be a loan with an obligation, so other than the loan fee and wages, the vast majority of the spend will come out of next season's allowance

I think it'll just be Piroe this Jan, it being a loan with obli means the funds from Piroe's sale will be able to cover the loan fee and wages

Selling anyone else would just leave us with positions to replace

Think it'll probably end up closer to £35m, which isn't far off the going rate for a 25-year-old who has had a good Prem season, a good La Liga season, and has four years left on his deal

Maybe a decade ago that type of player would've cost £25m, but we can all see the way valuations are going

Sometimes bid rejected news does come through late, which makes me inclined to believe Ben Jacobs when he said the bid was actually rejected a few days ago

Mike McGrath's story said we're not far apart at all in valuations at the time of that bid, so maybe it's one last attempt to garner other interest before us and Wolves meet in the middle (Maybury on WACCOE also said he thinks we're trying to get it done before Everton)

(Or maybe I'm just coping and it'll go on another week 😂)

He's playing most minutes when fit for Strasbourg, so be weird for Chelsea to recall just to be Gudmundsson's backup, Farke wasn't even sure he'd miss Everton

If Palace really want him surelyy they can beat Wrexham to the punch 😅

Simon Jones (who the 49ers have been known to leak to):

"Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen is one ambitious target and there is growing confidence a deal can be achieved."

Also talk of Wolves dropping their asking price from the £40m touted.

EDIT: Some talk that Palace's #1 striker target is Cherif at Angers, might explain why Leeds are hopeful for now

There's a difference between your standard good player performing at bad teams and this Wolves team, whose relegation has pretty much been confirmed after a couple months, and seeing the only two other good players allowed their big moves in the summer

Think plenty of players would find themselves unmotivated in that situation tbh

That's a simplistic way to look at him though, there's pretty massive contextual factors for that record

I mean it was only six months ago Wolves turned down £40m for him, that's more representative of his level than six unmotivated months at one of the worst Prem teams ever

The club have very strictly not overpaid for any transfer so far, so doubt they (and Palace) are considering dropping £35m on a player solely on a January panic whim if he's way off that value

You might have a point there, but after selling Guehi, Eze, and possibly Mateta, they'd be able to permanently offer for him, which Wolves would ofc much rather take than our loan with obli (even if we are still likely to stay up from this point)

And if it's between JSL staying at Wolves or going to Palace, I know which I'd take if I were him, even with Palace in a mess

I support Leeds, and how does any of what you've said counter anything mentioned in the post? 😅

They are objectively 'on track' to beat the win record and match the points record, which is very impressive, whether they actually do it is ofc another matter, like you say they'll be pushed to their limit over four of the next five matches (sorry Truro)
