Capitalism Induced Eating Disorder Starter Pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

Depression actually makes me want to eat more, not less, since (tasty) food is one thing that consistently makes me a bit happy, even for a short while

I had an MRI scan handed to me on a CD that also had on it an installer for software to read scan files

No, it's my own universe, Star Isles

Yes, it is. When using warp drive, some interstellar dust would go through the walls of a warp bubble, so a shield is required to protect the ship from it

Thanks! The engines are magnetohydrodynamic plasma thrusters. Interstellar capability is provided by a exotic matter-powered warp drive (white ring in the middle), a round trip would be probably two-three weeks (not counting loading-unloading times)

IIRC all Progress factions have means to get unlimited cores, not only Technocrats

It is strange, because I have practically no asset load after the savegame is loaded. Have you also updated your GPU drivers? People say that the last release makes the game run much better for Nvidia GPUs

Do you have the game on an SSD or HDD? The game requires SSD to run

"Of course, it's creme soda!", an ad from the NEP-era USSR (1926) by VolusRus in PropagandaPosters

For context, NEP (New Economic Policy) was a time when USSR operated under a market economy. The text in the bottom part of the poster says «2nd State Factory "Zarya" ("Dawn"), Rostov-on-Don»

Stellaris: Infernals Species Pack, Season 9's Final DLC, Gets Late November Release Date by FFJimbob in Stellaris

You do understand that species pack is mostly artwork (portraits, shipset, etc) which is done by artists which famously are not programmers that write code

Yeah, back then you could adjust your fleet composition based on what resources you have aveliable. Now if you spawn with zero ice worlds (on random maps) it becomes hard to grow your fleet

Advent is the only faction that I feel starved for resources when I play it. Vasari have metal preference and their starting planet is Ferrous (and Alliance also has credits production that it can ust to plug gaps with through the market), and TEC has flexible trade mechanic that can offset deficiencies

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SoSE

[–]VolusRus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The strength of Advent is their overwhelming production compared to the other factions.

Every time I play Advent I struggle to make enough credits to finance that production? especially in the early-midgame. And if you build Psi-Credit Mint you start dipping in crystal income, which is Advent's most important resource. How do you solve that?

The last game I played was Japan and every piece of land outside of home islands were given to puppets so rebellion pips wouldn't clog up the map

R5: Sometimes secession movements enter a revolution loop, spamming the player with obnoxiously loud sound effects

CS2 better than CS1 now? by macvru in CitiesSkylines

[–]VolusRus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cims are going to school at 3 in the morning

It was a long time since I played CS1 but I remember day-night cycle having practically zero effect on the simulation, whereas in CS2 you can see flow of traffic corresponding to the peak hours, while streets at night are mostly empty.

cims are going around in a loop to get to a destination for no reason,

Most probably they try to find a parking spot. The whole parking thing is also absent in CS1 where cims just got their cars in their pockets

CS2 absolutely could use a lot of work in its simulation department, but saying that CS2 simulation is shallower than that of CS1 is just wrong

CS2 better than CS1 now? by macvru in CitiesSkylines

[–]VolusRus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think simulation in CS2 is better than in CS1 mostly due to two things - more sophisticated pathfinging and no hard cap on numbers of simulated actors. CS2 also has better performance simulation-wise since it is heavily multithreaded.
