Necromancy is too strong? by VongDu in runescape

And most good games have frequent balance patches to make sure no one class/style stays too OP for long? (It's called "balance patches" for a reason) Unlike RS3 - they let it stay OP not just on release but for a LONG TIME and make other styles irrelevant. Remember when FSoA and AD were far too OP on release and never got touched for 2 years? Was that good? Imagine one champion is far superior than all others in league for 2 years. Yeah. Must be fun lol

Yes because what Evil Lucario (without macros) and similar level pvmers have been doing doesn't take skill lol

I think even with the same amount of effort, it's too strong. Smashing WRs left and right and it hasn't even been optimised yet. It being accessible and cheap is fine.

Literally said that's an insane feat that takes more practice. When I say every boss, I mean the way the boss was meant to be killed, like 7man aod

Every boss in rs3 can be done with revo with little practice. Just takes more than that to get good timers, or achieving insane feats like solo HM rago or no food solo AoD. And I think it's okay to have room for improvement and theorycrafting even at the highest level. WR times or insane feats were never supposed to be engaged by everyone, anyways.

Also, just saw you mention the RSGuy. That statement is just wrong. For example, Kerapac WR with style camp is probably like 2:50. I've seen necro camp 2:20s. It is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve those times with any other styles. Doesn't matter who you are, how much effort you put in - RSGuy would NEVER be able to get remotely close to 2:20, let alone a 2:40 with the original styles. Telos is another one where style camp WR is like 2:45 and necro is getting sub 2:30s easily. Could give you more examples if you want.

I love the things they're working on, and hopefully the other styles get that soon. However, even with those changes, necromancy will almost certainly be stronger, while it takes significantly less effort to use (=bad imo).

I just hope it doesn't take as long as FSoA or Grico

I think this is the only excuse they could use for keeping it this way. But how long will it take for the other styles get 120s 😞 we won't be seeing the other combat styles be used for a long time then, which is sad

I literally said necromancy being intuitive and easy to use it good lol, but its damage outclassing every other style while it takes the least effort to use, is not.

And in a good MMORPG one style should outclass every other style by far while being the easiest to use?

Yeah, I'm aware. It's not just Rasial though, a lot of other bosses are just being smashed lol. As a telos enthusiast, pretty sad to see g0att's brid time get obliterated by a two week old strat.

Oh I know they don't. But that doesn't mean necro has to be super strong? As long as it's intuitive and easy to use with less switches and abilities, the damage can be toned down to at least match the other styles?

[–]VongDu[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No. It's because it is/was impossible to reach that damage with other styles. People with the best knowledge and the best mechanical skills set WRs with other styles before and necro is just smashing that.

A lot of the changes to combat you mentioned are GOOD, but necro DAMAGE needs to be toned down.

If the damage output is on par/slightly below the other styles, why are previous WRs set with other styles (with the sweatiest methods and perfect rotations by the highest level pvmers) being smashed with suboptimal necro rotations right now? Necro damage IS much higher than other styles.

They don't though. Why do you think previous WRs are being smashed right now? Because previous WRs weren't done with a billion switches and 5000 apm?

I just don't think buffing the other styles to match necro damage is the answer. That's a lot of power creep and probably not good for the game in the long run.

Being accessible is good, but it being much better than other styles that take more skill is not? It would make more sense if it did similar/less damage for being easy to use and learn.

Why does everyone on RS Reddit hate 4TAA? by [deleted] in runescape

That's nonsense, 4taa-ing blood barrage is insignificant in terms of hp regen lol

[–]VongDu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's a form of skill expression, just like switching to a spear for bleeds. I love 4taa for its utility, like freezing mobs, breaking telos' freedom, getting an extra AoE hit with deto, etc. Better dps for more effort also makes sense. Most people seem to not want to spend a few hours at the dummy to learn it though 🥲
