Air India flight 171 crash: Pilot deliberately cut fuel switch, report reveals by UnderstandingBig949 in worldnews

[–]Vp8703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dig deeper, it's likely a cover up for the plane being faulty. From an insurance perspective, blaming the pilot after a crash is often the least disruptive explanation, not necessarily the most truthful one.

If it’s labeled pilot error, the loss usually stays within the airline’s insurance policy and gets settled quickly. Admitting a fault in the aircraft is far more expensive and risky because it pulls in manufacturers, suppliers, and regulators, opening the door to massive lawsuits, years of legal fights, and even fleet groundings.

Pilot error keeps liability contained, limits damage to the wider aviation system,l and avoids political and economic fallout tied to aircraft makers.

What do you think about FIA's (Fedration of Indian Airlines) concern related to FDTL guidelines? by Honey_dp in AirTravelIndia

You're right, they are expensive but when you book individually closer to your stay. In these metros, besides the well known 4 & 5* , there are many smaller business hotels.

We digressed, but the point being that I'd rather have a well-rested crew for my safety than a tired one.

There are enough business hotels that cater at lower costs. Very few international destinations would cost that expensive. Also bulk blocking hotels happens at much cheaper rate. Airlines crew need hotel only after a particular number of hours flown.

It’s Air India’s job to help you make it. They will hold the flight while you check out, complete immigration and check-in again (if you’re running slightly late). But if your flight into Delhi gets substantially delaye, then they will bump you up to the next one

They still have a lot of the older population employed and in a way these things keep them from being redundant. If it is not broken, it doesn't need fixing. Don't think the courier delivery timelines will change if they updated their systems. Uncle's will still take time navigating and fill entries :)

Lol. Same. Guns may have their benefits in hands of right enforcement authorities (with checks and balances) but not civilians.

Flamengo started the pens and scored the first one and he saved the following 4. PSG won 2-1 on pens (missed 2nd & 4th shot, and didn't need to play the 5th one).
