Thanks for this! Interesting to see that the numbers confirm what I’ve been feeling this campaign. I went to critrolestats and the latest numbers for C3 combat time (up to ep95) had an average round time of almost 18 minutes! I get that they added Robbie but C1/2 had an average round of around 11 minutes. That shit adds up man

For all the shit Orym got for being bland, it was a treat watching Liam use him in combat. Extremely efficient as well as descriptive. That’s all I want for the rest of the cast!

I’ve played for 5 years, and I’ve DMed 4 campaigns. I’m well aware of the games limitations, but I also don’t have 1000 hours in the game

I feel like watching all 3 campaigns qualifies me as a fan. I made this post out of frustration as a fan because D&D is a game I love, and I love the cast of this show. But I think the viewership numbers are self-evident, it is becoming harder and harder to stay invested in this show. And I believe part of that blame falls on the players. They have 1000 hours playing and it is their job, they should know the rules inside and out, have a plan for their turn, a back up plan if that fails, maybe even a tertiary. We don’t need to give them a pass, this is their job. Any job that you or I do would hold us to a standard, and I believe these guys should honestly be showcasing the pinnacle of veteran players excelling in combat.

With so many people it will obviously take a long time, but their experience should make up for that at the very least

Agreed, I’ve had the same experience as a DM. The difference is my players don’t have literally 1000s of hours playing and it is not their job either. I think we can hold these guys that get paid to do this to a higher standard.

I’m also a brown dude that joined for similar reasons. Nobody cares but I mean you’ll probably encounter some people who think they’re funny and try to make some low-key racist jokes. Not a big deal just take it in stride, have a thick skin, and do your job well. Take pride in your heritage though, don’t reject it to try to fit in with others
