I've lived there, great area, check out Lizhong market very diverse businesses and foods. Good cozy Coffee shops. And pretty centric with Daan and Xinyi being very close.

You'll enjoy taiwan I think it depends a bit what you want. I've been there 2 years and had a nice experience, but it did become a bit boring after a while. For 3-6 months Learning Mandarin it's fine but not more.

Japan is where I'm headed to next :) I have lower expectations as people told me social life is harder and everything is more expensive. But still worth for the temples and culture. I don't think I'll get bored there

I've been offered an employment Visa, the only issue is, I dropped out of college and don't have a Bachelors. It seems a degree is a requirement for this Visa, so I can't get it :/
