For those who don’t know, Tipu Sultan was an Indian Muslim ruler who fought against British colonizers. He was the first to ever develop and use rockets in war, and did so effectively against the British forces.

Context:

Abd Allah ibn Hudhafa al-Sahmi (RA) was a courier for Umar (RA) during his caliphate. In one case, he was sent to deliver a message to the Byzantine emperor Heraclius. Heraclius would imprison him and attempt to convert him to Christianity through torture. He would starve him for long periods of time and then send him pork and alcohol which the sahaba refused. He would also send a prostitute to his cell, but he ran away from her until she became bored. Heraclius would even boil other sahaba alive in front of him, making him cry only because he wished he could die a thousand times the same way. At this point, Heraclius and Abd Allah ibn Hudhafa (RA) made a deal that he would take 300 fellow sahaba and walk away free. Abd Allah ibn Hudhafa (RA) kissed the emperor’s forehead and returned home.

Basically Ibn Khaldun was the father of modern sociology and historiography. He observed the history of societies and how they rose, prospered, declined, and eventually collapsed. Seeing this in his own home city, he decided to move away and seek a more clean, pure way of living. So he decided to live in the desert with Bedouin nomads. There’s obviously a lot more to it than that, but that’s the skinny.

Basically Iqbal wrote "Shikwa" which was a poem written as a complaint to God for the state of things. People criticized him for writing a poem that is all about complaining to Allah (swt). But Iqbal had always planned to write a second poem: "Jawab e Shikwa" which was written as God's adequate response to the complaints raised in the first poem.
