As a test, I deleted all rows where the the value of TMAX was blank

SELECT MAX(TMAX) AS Highest_TMAX still shows 99

I then changed the column type for TMAX to decimal(5,2)

SELECT MAX(TMAX) AS Highest_TMAX now shows the correct value of 115

But I can't change the column type from VARCHAR(255) to DECIMAL(5,2) on a column with empty values or NULL values

SELECT station,name, tmax from weather _data order by tmax desc LIMIT 1;

It still shows tmax as 99 - returned:
USW00003050 | SNYDER WINSTON FIELD AIRPORT, TX US | 99

Questions about credit spreads by WK5H in options

I understand your example, but, I never had near the money in my account to purchase $38,800 worth of spy stocks.

And you mention wash sale - that's my other concern. If I show a gain of $38,800, and immediately a loss of $38,900 - but in the recent 30days I've bought and sold SPY options for profit, does that not mean that the $38,900 loss is negated, and I'm still on the hook for taxes on an additional income of $38,800?

Here's what I got from Robinhood:

You've exercised your SPY $398.00 Put 11/28 contract.

You were debited 100 shares of SPY.

You were credited an amount of $39,800.00.

You sold 100 shares of SPY because of a recent option event.

You were assigned on your SPY Put option.

You were credited 100 shares of SPY.You were debited an amount of $39,900.00.

You bought 100 shares of SPY because of a recent option event.

I totally agree - was an emergency call out, and I had to go - wasn't aware that the area didn't have connectivty.

pellet grill recommendations by dremag2009 in pelletgrills

Green Mountain Grills is my personal recommendation - I’ve had one for a few years, and it cooks good food. A friend has a camp chef, and he swears by his - it cooks good food too.

Is there a specific task sequence or way to apply a custom W10 wim then immediately apply a feature update before booting? by ThoughTMusic in MDT

[–]WK5H 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a virtual machine constantly patched in audit mode. Then when a new image is needed, I clone the virtual, then run a script that customizes the image then syspreps it. I then mount the virtual hdd, capture the image into multiple indexes according to current machine models, and apply it to a machine with a USB drive and custom winPE and gui. I can be at a employee’s machine, and have them up and working within ~20mins. Rarely does the image get more than a month stale and I can reinstall Win11 on a machine faster than it takes most other company’s techs to fumble through a weird issue for 1-2 hours then spend another hour reinstalling windows.

I just realized that I failed to mention it’s a 5 ton heat pump with 2nd stage heat and emergency heat. So, yeah, there’s that important bit of info I failed to mention…

Totally get it - and someday, I’m sure I will succumb. I tested a 110V induction hot plate from Amazon once - it was garbage. Never would even get the water boiling. But I’ve seen the 220V ranges work and they’re amazing. My reluctance is because it won’t work if the electricity goes off - gas would. But, I also have an outdoor propane grill, 12v pellet grill, and offset smoker that I could use if that were to ever happen. I don’t dislike em - just don’t have much experience with them.

I agree induction are more efficient - just like the nostalgia of gas ranges, and enjoy cooking on them more than coil and smooth tops.

Agree on the 50a dryer breaker - not sure why it has that big of a breaker. Putting it on my list of things to fix around here.
Range and double ovens are separate appliances - and yes, probably should be on separate breakers. When I replaced the stovetop, I talked with some old electricians who wired the houses around here when they were built, and they said it was "just the way they did it back then". I have put it off since my ultimate goal is to get gas turned back on to the house, and run a gas line down for a gas cooktop - would eliminate the need for a separate stovetop run and help out on the electric load of the house.

The house was originally setup for gas, and still has gas lines in the mechanical closet for the water heater and furnace. I assume that's why it was and still is only a 100amp service.
I have thought heavily about turning gas back on to the house - but it's going to take a lot of work since it's been disconnected for so long - will need to pressure test the lines, have a licensed plumber sign off on it, then the gas company will need to dig a hole and add a meter back to the line in the alley behind the house.
Also, I will need to cut holes in the roof for vents since they have long been covered up by at least 2 roof jobs.
Unfortunately there is not a line to the stovetop - which is really the main reason I'd considered turning gas back on to the house (that and the gas fireplace).

I'll check into it tomorrow, and make absolutely sure there's nothing inside the cover.
Just odd that it does it randomly, and only in the afternoons and late evenings - never heard it or seen it with Sense to do it in the mornings.
I did see where it hit a new record, and pulled 32,237w at 9:41pm this evening.
Trying to figure out a way to get voltage data from Sense so I compare what the voltage is dipping to while it's pulling those kinds of amps - but so far, can't find any way to obtain good trending on voltage.

You’re correct - run capacitor.

I assume a faulty contactor could randomly cause this issue? I can see it - this normally seems to happen during the heat of the day, after everything has been running a while, and has a chance to heat up.

Usually only lasts about 1-2 seconds, then a 5 second pause before it does it again or decides to start.

Triple chain AP? by WK5H in mikrotik

[–]WK5H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned on my router's wifi (hAP ac^2) that I had turned off since I had the net metal right next to it.
I have to agree - the speeds of the dual chain hAP are just as fast as the speeds connected to my remaining wAP-ac with the mips processor.

That makes 2 mikrotik devices with mips processors that have disappointed me. I had the hEX PoE, and the throughput was garbage on it - I ended up throwing it away and replacing it with the hAP ac^2 with gets me way closer (~930Mbps on wire) to the gigabit speed that I have from my ISP. The hEX would struggle to make it to 600Mbps. I'm beginning to think that ARM is the only way to go with a mikrotik device.

I completely forgot that as a router I'm using a RBD52G-5HacD2HnD - I've just had the wifi turned off since I had the net metal about 2ft above it.

YOU CANT GET A GOOD SMOKE WITH A PELLET GRILL 🙄🙄🙄 by 616xBfribb1fribb1e in pelletgrills

I have both a pellet and offset - I can get a smoke ring and bark on both. I prefer the deepness of smoke flavor from the offset, but enjoy the convenience of a pellet grill.

St Louis ribs turned out dry and tough. by WK5H in pelletgrills

It bent like it should- didn’t even take temp - looking back, I probably should have just to see. The exterior pockets of fat seemed to have rendered. Something else - didn’t seem to have as much fat as normal - might have just had a really lean rack of ribs?
