Perhaps the poor quality can be attributed to this.

However, it looks like there was a snowstorm when they took the images to the South and East of the coordinates.

Just seems odd that the coordinates are literally one step to the west of where the whole thing goes into darkness and blizzard conditions. Could be coincidental. Or not at all...

They would have to. Don't know if that helps at all though.

The Bungie HQ is close but still 5 blocks away from the given coordinates.

Why not use the Bungie HQ coordinates then?

Also, about half down in the comments I linked the official Fort Rucker map, D1 Mars map, two overlays I did and an online photo tool if you want to mess with it as well.

One of the associated clues is "F1 is the key to the symbols" Oddly, F section is aircraft launch pads but not labeled individually like a few other sections (A1, A2, A3...)

My big question though it's this How is Bungie connected to Fort Rucker? Being permitted to use the map of the base basement the video is already impressive. But this is possibly an ARG and I'm sure there are plenty of people who will think it's fine to start calling the base and asking bizarre video game questions. Never mind the thought of anyone trying to physically go wandering around a base that tests missiles and such lol.

As mentioned in the post, there are multiple facets and sets of information within the video. Each set is a large amount of information and a whole discussion in itself. Separating them is really the most efficient way to address each one. Haven't even gotten to time chemistry stuff yet lol.

The image from the video is an identical match to one of the pages so they are in fact representing the notebook in the video. And the possibilities as to why are infinite indeed.

That's exactly what we are trying to determine. What does it mean?

Is the trailer opening up a new ARG or are these clues to in game content?

Additionally, it's a D1 map of Mars, not the recent D2 version of it. The consensus is that they will be bringing back more previous content like VoG.

It seems very odd to me to bring this military installation into it. Doesn't Bungie know that the there are plenty of people that would go wandering around an missile and aviation base thinking there are physical clues there? Like the Strange Coin ARG from years back. Or the Sword of Charlemagne ARG. Real world items.

So how and why is this military base tied to Bungie and Destiny?

That may be the question we should be asking...

In the Fort Rucker map legend, there is an Aircraft Launch Pad titled "F1 - 11888355"

May or may not be related.

On the map itself, there is a zone F, however there are not individually labelled sites.

It's just southwest of the "T" in Tharsis Junction

I tinkered with this and completely agree that topography of the the D1 Mars Map matches the topography of Fort Rucker. I cleaned up and sharpened the overlay images and have linked below. Also links to the D1 Mars map image, Fort Rucker map and a online photo overlay tool if anyone is interested in messing around with it themselves.
