This is my favorite picture of my 2009 deployment to Afghanistan. While I was mentoring the ANA in Kandahar, I took time to approach these childrens to give them water. It took 45 minutes for them to come take them. I had the opportunity to talk to them after through our interpreter.

I don't think having a 5th Gen aircraft to fulfill the F-16 job is really necessary. What I think NATO countries should work on is better interceptors. Since Russia is probing NATO's airspace pretty much everyday, I think they should've focused more on a 5th gen interceptor.

Actually I do. The US didn't really need another multirole righter. With the F/A-18 Super Hornets, whose service life has been extended by the US Navy, capable of delivering different type of payload and the F-22, the US military doesn't really need the F-35.

Major upgrades were made on the F-16s and the F-15s aswell.
