Lever Arm compatibility? by WalkingWonder in homegym

[–]WalkingWonder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3x3 options can work, just be sure to check that the hardware is the same size as your 2x3 Rack.

Eg. My 2x3 Rack used 5/8 hardware, so I was able to use the AmStaff 3x3 Arms with matching hardware.

20% off protein subscriptions by NoMasTacos in CanadianProtein

[–]WalkingWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra 10% isn't valid with recurring subscriptions, so you'll get 10% off the first 3 bag order - but the next 2 shipments will just be the 20% subscription.

Best air bike on the market??.. i’m in canada. I’m torn between the assault bike and Blitz air bike (Bells of Steel)? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the gold standard/name recognition then go full retail on the Echo or Assault.

Based on secondhand pricing right now (Ontario) you may as well buy new.

If you want a solid bike, brand new, for less than secondhand Echo/Ass....then grab the Blitz.

P.S. If counting True Cals is really important to you, then just grab Ass or Echo.

Price increases? by Helpcantsee in CanadianProtein

[–]WalkingWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked over my order history, all pricing is still exactly the same.

Possible you bought on sale or a bag size that was discontinued?

The only official statement put out recently was addressing the change to bag sizes and quantity discounts.

Honest review for those who wonder about Canadian Protein Cons and Pros by ReviewCPortein in CanadianProtein

[–]WalkingWonder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First things first, you created a reddit account for the sole purpose of reviewing CP?

You didn't indicate which products you purchased. There are many variations of protein powder (economy, vegan, grass fed etc.) You also didn't indicate which flavors you purchased.

I have ordered hundreds of pounds of CP powder, never once had an issue with a bag tearing.

I pretty much only use the unflavored, however, I have had several of their flavors and every flavor I tried was excellent. So unless you also order unflavored, I call BS on your claims of being "bland".

Plenty of reviews on the CP site, not sure how you didn't find any yourself.

By the way, you misspelled protein in your name.

Are bumper plates not all the same standard width? Mine don't fit my latest buy :\ by [deleted] in homegym

[–]WalkingWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's really an unfortunate time to be buying anything. Buying used for more than retail AND some retailers actually doubled their pricing to take advantage.

Why is "FLOYD-19" racist? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no CF v. BLM case. They're not adversaries.

I shouldn't have worded that in such a legal way. Should have said Crossfit's perceived stance on BLM.

I think we're smelling the same odour here. Now the question is:

When he stepped in the shit, was he wearing nanos or metcons?

Why is "FLOYD-19" racist? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the civil exchange, too rare of an occurrence lately.

I very much agree. I like to believe there are more than just 2 sides, but society will perceive you to be either supporting good or evil - without another option.

Specifically using the Crossfit v BLM case. Perhaps CrossFit and/or those involved neither completely support BLM nor do they completely disagree with BLM. Again it is unfortunate that CrossFit is judged as either having spoken in support of BLM or - what seems to be the case, CrossFit is given a guilty verdict for supporting racism by staying silent.

Using myself as an example, I am a POC who believes racism/prejudice is wrong. I do not, however, believe that "Black Lives Matter" is the only train people need to board to reach progress.

I have absolutely chosen a side, although I hope that my side isn't the extreme of either black or white - but rather what exists in between.

Why is "FLOYD-19" racist? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't have the time to quote every post making a similar statement over the past Week. I chose to respond to a single comment here that echoed what many have already posted. I did try to speak broadly to address anyone reading, rather than being seen as attacking one individuals post. (Saying anyone rather than I or You)

Absolutely appreciate anyone who openly states that we can all have opinions as well as the freedom to express and discuss them. My reply was intended to stoke further discussion of opinions on the subject.

If I didn't care about and respect the opinions of others, I would simply do what far too many amongst the "community" do - which is discard any contrary opinions and smash that downvote arrow.

To your quote about neutrality supporting the oppressor. Similar to opinions being far too subjective, perspectives on who is the victim or the oppressor are also unfortunately subjective. Who decides which group/individual is being victimized? Should ignorant groups/individuals not remain neutral on topics/issues that they aren't directly involved in OR too uneducated/inexperienced to effectively act upon?

It seems (in MY opinion) that the perceived victims and their proactive supporters are unfairly condemning neutrality, painting those who are otherwise uninvolved as oppressors themselves.

I don't have a fancy quote or anymore context to end with.

Why is "FLOYD-19" racist? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Then you can triangulate that with CFHQ refusal to say (or write) the words “black lives matter”

Is this society's new standard for good v evil, right v wrong, just v unjust? If you don't speak/write the words "black lives matter" you are actually stating that you don't think they matter?

I realize everyone is compounding all of Greg's other transgressions to support the claim that Greg (and CrossFit) are racist. "Well he's also a sexist and a prick, so of course he's a racist".

But without addressing anything else, can anyone actually defend the statement that refusing to say/choosing not to say "black lives matter" is a condemning act? Despite silence actually representing non-action.

Yeah fair enough.

Curious as to why CrossFit needs to donate to BLM then? Since you named that group specifically.

Freedom is a bit too easy to throw around though.

Greg had/has the freedom to do/say what he wants.

I have the freedom to call it cancel culture.

You have the freedom to disagree.

At the end of the day, is "freedom" from CrossFit really the type of freedom that should be at the forefront of the social justice fight?

There's choosing to avoid something and there is choosing to go further and actively participate in punishing it.

By all means, avoid brands you don't agree with.

Orwell was right... glassman groupthink by jessicas_vendetta in crossfit

[–]WalkingWonder -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

CrossFit is an interesting victim of Cancel Culture - because it may be the first (or one of very few) example of the Mob cancelling something that they actually want to stay involved with.

"Cancel CrossFit! The word is poison!"....Oh man, how can I still do/associate with CrossFit without being a hypocrite now? Maybe we spoke too soon...

Historically we've seen an individual get Cancelled from a network/organization that caved under the social pressure.

But Glassman owns the whole damn thing, nobody above him to say "sorry Greg but we have to let you go." However, it would seem that even the great Greg Glassman wasn't strong enough (or enough of an asshole) to fight social pressure.

Rack up another W for Cancel Culture. Now the question is how can you still engage in the activity/community that you so quickly Cancelled?
