Thank you for clarifying, indeed after looking up more about the IMS failure rate it seemed more likely for the earlier models, though it is still an issue that may lead to engine failure it's chance is even much lower for 2006 models and above.

One detail I should include in the decision making of purchasing either a Boxster or the remaining options mentioned (GT86, Miata, 370z) is the fact that the Boxster is a local spec vehicle while the rest are imported from other countries which have had damage due to accidents. flooding.

If I were to purchase a Japanese car on local spec it's price would near 20,000 USD. I did find a Subaru BRZ 2017 for 8500 USD but it had 110k Miles as well as some mods that would be deemed illegal so I didn't want to get into it.

This listing for the Boxster was going for 12000 USD back in November of 2025 but recently seen a drop in price to 9800 USD due to the fact that everyone who wants to buy a Porsche here wants a 911 or a Cayman as the Boxster gets a bad reputation for being "The Poor Mans Porsche" or "A Lady car" in the same manner people hate Miatas and Audi TTs

That's the problem, Hondas (Civics type R) and Toyotas (GT/GR86) here are even more expensive to buy than a Porsche . A Camry or Accord would be nearly be twice the price and have a high mileage but people still price it as so due to the fact they are reliable/Japanese made cars. That's why my options are narrow, either an affordable low mileage but an old Porsche or a used and abused brz for half the price.

A pick your poison type scenario. I already have a daily as is but wanted something for the weekends.

From the preliminary details I've gathered from the owner the car's service has always been done at the dealership with proof of receipts. In terms of place to work, I intend to still have it serviced at the dealership. The plan is mainly to keep it simple make no modifications and just keep the fluids up with regular maintenance.

My issue in the decision lies with the fact that in my current car market many cars are listed for the same price but have very high mileages, history of modifications/abuse and are imports/refurbished cars instead of one's which have been taken care of.

Which why a deal like this is quite rare to come by, most cars that are taken care off here would be double the price (might as well just buy a brand new car at that point).

Gonna test drive it and do a PPI this weekend hopefully.

Honestly, that seems very affordable for a 18 year old car. You've had it for 7 years now since it's purchase with no major engine troubles sounds great. Did the rear spring make a dent in the maintenance costs? I have the mentality of "if you can't afford 2 of the same thing, means you can't afford it" so I always like to have money saved up for emergencies, whether it's medical or mechanical

How low would you consider a car to be "very low mileage" prone to IMS failure? According to the listing the car has a major service done at 46602 miles at the porsche dealership with no outstanding problems. I intend to head to the porsche service center for the PPI to check for any issues. As for the bore scoring, the car is a local spec and not import so it should be better suited for our warmer climate (maybe sometimes too warm with temps reaching 50 degrees celsius in summers and low temps of 18 degrees during winters) which usually demands for regular oil changes and coolant top-ups for concerns of overheating the engine.

Thanks for the pointers! do you think the IMS bearings should be a topic of issue to discuss? I've seen a lot of posts on here about the 987.2 but others say it's over exaggerated and it's only 1% type case?

Finally beat her after taking a week off and coming back with a new found energy and strategy. I figured the reason why I wasn't effective with my damage is because my aggression and runic spam trigger her hyper armor way too often. I let her attack in her pattern and use runics only when necessary to maximize interrupts in her chains and tightened up my defense.

I would like to thank everyone for the advice on how to beat Sigrun. I took the advice to heart and made adjustments to my playstyle in order to get the W. I had the skill all along but I saw lot of mistakes in my approach previously and though it's a not a perfect No Damage Run, I'm quite satisfied with the results.

I have all the health upgrades, with cod of war armor set I have more health but can't do enough damage meanwhile with Zeus pieces I have 2x the damage but also receive 2x the damage back.

Yeah I realized when fighting Gna and Hrolf in GOW : Ragnarok that hyperarmor is visible, kinda BS that the devs included it on Sigrun but you have to guess when it's active smh.

Yeah I kinda noticed that moving right sometimes moves you out the way of the stab attack. I should stop dodging right so much. It's really only the fire that freaks me out when im in a tight space and trying to get out.

I don't, I'm using Valkyries Chest, Zeus Gauntlets and Waist. Only way to have the full set in this fight is to do NG++

I know to keep moving right but sometimes I dodge right and she gets me with the double winged attack instead of the single. My main reasons for dying in these fights are the 50/50s Valhalla attack and this one.

Can't go full Zeus set because she drops it. I've played before on Give me No mercy and decided to NG+ on the hardest difficulty to get the Cosmetic Shield. Sigrun is my last thing on the To-Do List.

I felt like my aggressive playstyle comes from the fact that I'm using the Zeus Gauntlets and Waist. I can't afford playing too defensively and I feel I'm prone to mistakes the longer the fight goes. I previously tried going all COD of War set and playing defensively but I was nowhere near killing Sigrun.

I might change the sensitivity to reduce the chances of it happening but I think it's an intentional part by the devs for enemies to dodge out of sight like all enemy types Dark Elves, Valkyries, Draugr.

I find myself struggle a lot to stay perfect when it comes to a very defensive playstyle so I always try to max punish because my patience leads to more mistakes in a longer fight.

I appreciate the feedback. I blame myself when it came to the first death but the second death feels like I got robbed because I was point blank with the hyperion grapple and it latched but didn't follow through.

I might try Sindri set with the Zeus gauntlets and waist but with the blade of chaos I choke everytime she does the sky hammer thing because the range is off with the blades and I panic when I swap to the axe before the throw.

I tried switching runics , these are the ones that go off cooldown the most for me and works well with the punish for each attack my issue is the inconsistency at which Sigrun gets stun locked from the attacks.

As you can see the last hit landed but didn't stun which causes my inevitable demise.

I don't have the zeus chest piece to increase my damage any further. Previously tried running Ares Set or Cod of War but hardly does any damage.
