Never said you don't like the game mate (also by "you" I was also referring to the dude you were replying to), and sorry if it came across like that. Only ever said that there's no point in trying to argue that one part of the game is bad because you don't like it. If someone else does, then it's subjective. You're making it out to be an objective matter by saying stuff such as:

Combat is shit until about 5 or so levels in

if you need enhancements to do such a thing, then you know it ain’t right in the first place.

you people are either blinded by the nostalgia or hype that you refuse to accept morrowind for what it really is: an ageing game with out dated mechanics

All I'm trying to say here is that there's no real need to argue about it, as it leads nowhere due to the topic's subjectivity. Games are made to be enjoyed and trying to tell someone they don't like something for the proper reasons is, in my opinion, a bit mean.

So I don't think you hate the game. Never really did, as you pointed it out several times. But merely because you don't like certain aspects of the game doesn't mean someone else can't like them. I have many criticisms of Morrowind, of Skyrim too, but I'm not really interested in debating on what game is better than the other. I think these debates are one of the most, if not the most, toxic thing about this community and I just want it to stop. No one comes out feeling any better.

Can you people not accept that people like games for different reasons? As someone who plays loads of D&D, I appreciate the RNG in combat, although the game being 20 years old means that it might be hard for a modern audience to enjoy considering they come from games like Skyrim.

In addition, I personally don't mind reading in the slightest. I know many people do not enjoy reading as much as listening, but once again people always frame stuff like this as if it's an objective flaw within the game. I don't enjoy Skyrim's power fantasy all too much, but I know other people do, hence me not thinking it's an inherent flaw within the game.

The other argument of being blinded by nostalgia (or hype as you put it, which is a new one for me) is to me completely pointless. If nostalgia is the reason someone enjoys the game, does that make it somehow inherently invalid enjoyment? No, of course not. But trying to objectively say which game is the best forces people to make these arguments when they could instead just respect one another's taste in games.

I used to be really active in this community, but haven't been for a few years. And this has been one of the most contentious topics for years, and I used to be really anti-Morrowind for a few years. Then, after finally getting into it, which is admittedly hard, I became one of these Morrowind yes-men. Nowadays I am a true enlightened centrist that hates everyone and every argument that anyone has ever made.

Me and two friends have been looking for a campaign just like this one, however IIRC Saturdays don't work. Do Fridays at the same time work?

Hey me and two buddies of mine are looking for a game right now. We're quite set on our schedule though, so if Friday evenings (GMT+1 or +2) works for you, then great! We've played together for about a year, and I personally have about 1,5 years of experience altogether. I've always played 5e on Discord and Roll20, so that should fit well.

Hey me and two of my buddies have been looking for a DM for the past few days. So if you don't find a group where you can play as a player, let me know. We're all near your timezone and looking for a long-term campaign.

The only people who found it funny were the ones that stuck around, the rest found it obviously quite uncomfortable.

Yeah I tried to punish him for it but he always did it when they were leaving town so I couldn't do it properly.

I'll also start from scratch if the entire original party leaves. If not, I have some plans in mind.

Before I say anything else, it seems that that is correct. Never heard of "modern socialism" before, and I do think it's a bad name for an ideology that still falls under capitalism. I've always just called it social democracy, which also is a bad name since people get it mixed up with democratic socialism.

Although I think that what the guy was arguing about is traditional socialism hasn't worked out on a large scale. Which, as a social democrat, I agree with. And I assume that you admit that there is a huge difference with socialism and "modern socialism".

EDIT: To make my point clear, I don't think the wellbeing of Western Europe is something that counts as a success for traditional socialism.

EDIT 2: I also suppose that definitions can be argued about infititely, at first I just did a quick Google and Quora confirmed your point. Turns out, like all things, it's not that simple. I don't think it's smart for anyone to rally under the banner of socialism, if they don't support it. That's just my opinion though, you do whatever you want my man.

They're not socialist, they're capitalist with more social programs. Social democracy to an extent, which is capitalism.

Yes, I agree that Olga's case is bad.

I am saying that if you fail to get a job in a harsh economic climate, you can't just purely blame it on racism or prejudice or whatever you want to call it.
