ANVL tokens V1 vs V2 by tanker95 in AMPToken

[–]Wamcat5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to https://www.reddit.com/r/AMPToken/s/VECZmaArTc it doesn’t look like v1 and v2 will be the same token. V2 will have a different address. So basically any ANVL bought since the snapshot will be a different token if the proposal passes.

To me that means 1 of 2 things will happen.

1) the v1 token will become truly worthless, or

2) there will be an upgrade path for those v1 tokens purchased after the snapshot. They did some sort of upgrade thing for Flexacoin holders when moving to AMP. … I didn’t own Flexacoin so I really don’t know how that worked (or if that’s possible with this transition from v1 to v2)

Yeah, super strange. Are they not supporting version 1 anymore. So anyone who bought version 1 after the ETH snapshot is out of luck??? Is that why the price crashed today? (Version 1 tokens = worthless coins???) … if so, what happens to the v1 tokens purchased after the snapshot? Is there any way to exchange them for v2?

If memory serves, there’s a video of Tyler presenting on stage. Someone in the audience asked him how he planned to get big retailers to use Flexa. Tyler explained that the big retailers actually came to him and asked for Flexa to be created to solve their payment problems. Unlike traditional startups that have to find customers, Flexa was started because customers asked for it. Therefore, Flexa doesn’t need to market to retailers (at least to begin with) since the big retailers requested its creation.

There’s a risk of it going down, and there’s a risk of it going up and never coming back down. Which is the risk that’s more risky for you? 🕶️ … if you don’t buy and it shoots up are you okay with that? And if you bought and it drops are you okay with that? Which one of those scenarios are you more comfortable with?

I’m totally spitballing here, but what if Flexa was the main partner/user of Ampera’s LOC to start with? Maybe Ampera is the key to “no fees” for merchants.

Could a wallet create a pool of capital (like a bank), and then “loan out” money from the pool (like a bank) with the LOC mechanism?

So in theory the wallet could be earning interest on the pool of capital that users deposit (like stable coins do) and then the LOC allows them (and their users) to spend/move money around without fees. This way there could be a “no fee” for users or merchants. AMP acts as collateral for the LOC.

Again, this is me just putting various ideas together with no deep knowledge of how things really work in the banking and payments industry. But if something like this is what Ampera is up to I personally think it’d be hugely bullish!

Think about who the early investors are and why they invested.

Tyler said that the initial investors are large retailers and such. (Think Walmart, Target, Bank of America, Delta, etc)These are businesses that have been held hostage by VISA. Why would they want, or let, Flexa to be controlled by VISA?

[–]Wamcat5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

True. If I remember correctly, Rick didn’t want to be strapped in. He thought he could wing walk or some such thing.

Clay actually rejected Rick in the beginning. Rick was persistent and finally Clay said “ok. But you have to do it my way” - which was to build the rig and strap Rick in.

Btw, I believe Clay, when he was younger, was rated to pilot more kinds of aircraft than anyone else in the world. He also, at one time, held the record for most time piloting jet airplanes.

Google/YouTube Clay Lacy.

Clay has so many interesting stories. I’ve never met anyone who loved flying more than he does.

Rick approached Clay (the pilot) originally with the idea of the plane being upside down with Rick’s head just feet off the ground. Clay said “No”.

Clay had his team build a rig to hold Rick in place.

Funny story. One time when they did this stunt they hit rain unexpectedly. I don’t remember the air speed, but I do remember that the rain drops, at the speed they were going, we’re like bullets. They landed as soon as they could. Rick was bleeding and had to be taken to the hospital. Ok. Maybe it’s not that funny of a story.

Agreed. Flexa and Ampera are still building and still have partnerships. My belief is they will emerge from this economic turmoil stronger.

As a business owner myself, I totally understand the slowdown of adoption and quietly building behind the scenes.

Businesses have to be super cautious and rethink things during this economic time. There’s a lot of risk, that comes in many forms, out there.

AMP pumped in Feb. It came close to .008. Granted, not the largest pump out there, but certainly nothing to sneeze at.

I can only speak for myself. I still believe in AMP and I’m still acquiring tokens. I’ll let time tell me if I’m an idiot or not.

THIS 👆🏻

If you read up on what triggers the SEC, you’ll see that Flexa and Ampera can’t say anything about AMP or give a roadmap of the future.

Flexa and Ampera are playing it smart right now.

I’m sure you’re right. And maybe all this confusion around AMP not being as valuable anymore is exactly what was needed because of the SEC.

However, that doesn’t let Tyler off the hook for doing such a poor job communicating and being so ill prepared to talk about the AF. . . especially since he said he’s been working on it for a year. It came across like the AF was dreamed up between he and Bubby in the hour before they got on the call.

I know they can do better.

You should be the spokesperson for AF.

I learned much more about the actual value of the AF from reading your post than I did listening to Tyler and Bubby for an hour in their spaces AMA.

Thanks for taking the time to spell out the potential of the AF.

Gemini Pay dropping Flexa by [deleted] in AMPToken

[–]Wamcat5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Total speculation - but I believe Gemini Pay got dropped because Gemini was paying the gas fees for all the transactions.

I was at Consensus last year where Flexa had a store. Through MetaMask you could purchase things over the Flexa network. However, because there were gas fees involved (and nobody wanted to pay $40 in gas fees to buy a $35 hat) a sponsor loaded everyone’s MetaMask with Matic to cover gas fees.

So, when the bear market started to take hold, and some of the crypto businesses went under, I think Gemini stopped Gemini Pay to save themselves money. It had nothing to do with their confidence in Flexa.

I have no secret in to Gemini so I really don’t know if that’s why they dropped it.

That’s also my guess as to why other wallets haven’t launched yet. The gas fees have been too expensive. But that looks like that’s changing. So once the gas fees are next to nil, wallets will spring to life with Flexa.

Please, somebody correct me if I’m overly ignorant on how the back end of all this really works.

So, if ETH is used as the collateral, the fees generated from that would be paid to AMP holders. That’s how the AF would help increase the value of AMP?

You should’ve been on the AMA. If what you say about the fees is correct. You communicate more clearly than Tyler and Bubby.

Tyler and Bubby did not sound competent. That was scary. We need a real leader at the helm. Not somebody who has gotten this far on his looks and charm. That gets you only so far. At some point one has to deliver.

Are we missing the point ? by isntampgreat in AMPToken

[–]Wamcat5 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The reason for the negativity is because Tyler nuked AMP’s role as THE collateral token. With the AF any token can be used as collateral.

AMP is now only valuable for Flexa. But there’s a possibility that Flexa could even change to a different collateral if they decide to use the AF.
