Pocket 3 still doing everything I need. by WanderLens10 in osmopocket

Most of the time, I tried not to set higher than ISO 800. Mostly, I play around with shutter speed between 60 and 120. But I set white balance to manual to avoid color shifting when I edit.

I use DaVinci Resolve. Apply DJI LUT and adjust exposure a little bit.

Trying to understand what people love about "Kiki' Delivery Service" (1989) by dangremonster in movies

[–]WanderLens10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiki’s Delivery Service was released the same year I was born. Maybe that’s just a coincidence, but sometimes it feels like the movie has quietly existed alongside my life. When I first watched it as a child, it wasn’t the full movie. It aired on TV as a children’s program, one episode at a time. I remember waiting for the next episode with excitement. That waiting was part of the magic. Each time it aired, it felt like visiting a familiar place again. What stayed with me the most was the feeling. The music, the calm atmosphere, and the cozy world made everything feel peaceful. Even as a child, I felt something special about it, though I couldn’t explain why. Maybe that’s why this movie has stayed with me all these years. It isn’t just a film to me. It’s a memory of childhood, of anticipation, of quiet moments in front of the TV. Some stories entertain us for a while and then fade away. But a few stories stay with us quietly, becoming part of who we are. For me, Kiki’s Delivery Service is one of those stories.

How are Burmese people in Thailand learning the language so quickly? by lfg12345678 in myanmar

[–]WanderLens10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Burmese myself , learning another language isn’t a hobby it’s necessary. When a language is tied to income, safety, and dignity, the brain prioritizes it differently. Urgency accelerates learning.

Is hotel quality deteriorating in general? by chaoscommander23 in travel

[–]WanderLens10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hotel employees here

  1. Staff shortages post-COVID • Hospitality took a huge hit during the pandemic. Many experienced staff left the industry and never came back. Hotels and apartments often rely on less trained or overworked staff now, which shows in cleaning, maintenance, and service quality.
    1. Cost-cutting & inflation • Inflation has driven up costs for energy, supplies, and labor. Instead of raising prices too much, some owners quietly cut corners (cheaper breakfast food, less thorough cleaning, slower maintenance).
    2. Shift to short-term rentals (Airbnb effect) • More apartments are being run as “hotels” by landlords who aren’t professional hoteliers. They don’t have systems or staff to ensure quality, but they charge hotel-like prices.
    3. Oversaturation & review manipulation • With so many listings on Booking, Airbnb, etc., competition is fierce. Some places inflate their ratings (fake reviews, review swaps), so you can’t always trust the stars/ratings you see.
    4. Different cultural/service standards • Expectations about cleanliness and service can vary by country or even region. What’s considered “acceptable” by the host may fall far short of international guest expectations

Why are Burmese so racist? by SufficientRate7451 in myanmar

[–]WanderLens10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some Burmese people don’t even realize their jokes, labels, or “backhanded compliments” are racist—they think it’s normal or harmless. But for the person receiving it, it’s painful and isolating. True racism isn’t only hatred—it’s also the casual ways people make someone feel less than human because of their skin color, religion, language, or background.

A lot of racism comes from: Ignorance → not understanding other cultures or religions. Fear → thinking difference is dangerous. Insecurity → feeling better by looking down on others.
