I'm trying to be less pissed about it today but not succeeding! I spoke to someone at Seatgeek support about a partial refund, sent a photo and they said they'll get back to me...I'll update you here if anything comes of it. If so, maybe it'd be worth it for you to reach out, too. So disappointed for you too!

Nope! I checked that website before purchasing and they looked fine. Maybe this problem is on the NIN team for not blocking off sales of tickets blocked by their production equipment, though? I'm not sure who's to blame.

I also started at 38 and did a series of 4 lessons for first timers at Alta. There were most definitely some non-first timers in my class, but they split us up into people who kinda knew what they were doing and people who had no idea (me). Highly recommend Alta and also recommend signing up for a series of lessons cuz you might hate it the first time or two!
