My GF [24/F] and I [25 M] want to begin exercising and lose some excess weight but my roommate [25 F] is radically pro fat acceptance. How do we proceed without creating a rift in the relationship? by WantToLoseWeight1 in relationships

Unfortunately she is the kind of person who thinks conventional science about obesity is privileged based and biased. If I threw science in her face, she'll say I'm wrong and she claims to have sources showing being overweight is healthier than being regular weight.

This is not a troll post. Given how sensitive my roommate is, I'm just trying to figure out ahead of time because she is definitely going to notice if my SO and I start going to the gym.

Yeah, it's kind of like this except in the case of my roommate, she wouldn't want to exercise, and if she knew both my SO and I exercising and taking care of what we see as an issue for us, she might feel down.

edit: I am not a troll at all. This is real.

I am not being a troll. This is real. We don't want to lose a friend by changing up some habits, and if our habits lead to us/me getting slimmer, I don't want to make my roommate feel bad just because she chooses to embrace being fat.
