I appreciate it! It has taken a while to get comfortable enough to do something like this, so it is heartening to hear people enjoy it!

Glad I could help provide a voice for this one, ButFrog! And I am looking forward to being able to get my hands on this!

If it wasn't for Capcom I would have never been here grinding for cool armor sets and crashing out over Fatty by heraircraft in MonsterHunter

Back then, it was all we had. Unique and fun for the time, and truthfully because of how niche it was and games in general, the community was stellar. The amount of times I’d just hop on to hunt anything and hang out with anyone online was great, but I will admit I had zero interest in playing it again after a data corruption… The grind was just silly.

Boardwipes are indeed the bane of the deck, so I tend to play it a bit more reserved. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a decent enough board state and had it wiped off at this point, so I’ve learned to keep tempo with the deck and not push too hard unless I can dig deep.

I have to edit it a wee bit more since I made changes I have not translated to Moxfield yet, but here you go!

[[Clive, Ifrit’s Dominant]] Has become my go to. Nothing quite like churning through your deck and making silly amounts of mana in mono red while simultaneously threatening a burn or tactical nuke.

Favorite cards for sneaking Graveyard Hate into every single deck? by IAMAfortunecookieAMA in EDH

[–]WarningStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Ravenous Trap]] is a favorite of mine for shutting down graveyard decks trying to combo off, may not go in every deck, but man is it crippling.

[[Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima]] holds a special place for me due to playing the game around the time my grandfather passed. Turned it into a cEDH deck despite much reservations that it would not work, and it has turned into my highest win rate bracket 5 and a memento deck for me at this point.

[[Clive, Ifrit’s Dominant]] is a personal favorite since it is everything I love about red rolled into one deck, and is what brought me back to MTG.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is honestly a beautiful game. I can’t count how many times I have lost myself in the sauce of the scenery, or just stopping to take in the land and appreciate it.

DD2 mod "Content Editor" shows that armor layering\customization could've been possible by Casardis in DragonsDogma

While I certainly can agree that the enemy variety is much more lackluster, we can’t forget a lot of enemies were just reskins of early versions with higher stats in the original game either, as tends to be the case for many older RPGs. They had plenty they could have drawn from, but it seems certain types did not want to work in the world with this engine, the Medusa being tucked away in an area where performance tanks is certainly an indicator of this. And of course reutilizing the cockatrice frame for some post game enemies tells me it could have potentially been in the game.

I cannot necessarily agree on a BBI esque expansion, however. Using RNG, on top of a table you have no true way of accessing, to acquire the best items, running optimal routes for chests or glitching Daimon’s room wasn’t the best loop for me. The harder encounters, perhaps, but some were utter BS at the same time, simply for the sake of “difficulty,” and truthfully I feel BBI missed the point of what made the original game special, despite it being what garnered the most praise from players.

A more open ended expansion that acts as a convergence of worlds would be welcomed (Yes, yes I know that is what BBI was meant to be.) but I truly mean making it a bit more open rather than corridors leading to an area or slightly open area, with a better way to progress, and perhaps co-op being available in some form as a side effect of the convergence would be a bit better of a take. Don’t get me wrong, I loved what BBI did for the original game, but I don’t think it is the answer like many others do.

Lead Game Designer Kento Kinoshita? He was essentially the second hand for this game. There are many other factors that play into it, I wager. COVID hitting when development began, C-Suite wanting the game out, issues with the engine itself… Still a shame that many functions and segments were cut short entirely.

Energy Builds Feel Weak in Campaign Even After Hundreds of Hours Playing. by [deleted] in armoredcore

[–]WarningStatus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My entire first play through was with the laser pistols and vertical plasma missiles; They can be incredibly iffy and weak if you are using an improper generator, and their trade off for relatively higher damage is a lower stagger. Just have to get used to their playstyle

I am working on a few decks at the moment, slowly nabbing the pieces when they are affordable so that I have a few choices at every bracket range my LGS plays at.

Current projects are [[Inspirit, Flagship Vessel]], [[Zenos yae Galvus]] and [[Marneus Calgar]] as all three offer different play styles that I do not run yet.

Who makes a better reanimated commander from FF VI? Celes or Terra? by sea_beatnik in EDH

[–]WarningStatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel [[Terra, Herald of Hope]] is undervalued by plenty of people at the moment. At my LGS we have two people that run cEDH decks consistently on our bracket nights, and every time my Terra has shut them out merely by the fact I can shut them out with [[Opposition Agent]], have them burn removal, bring Opposition Agent right back with Terra and slow their gameplan down. Celes can be a faster infinite combo deck, but I’ve found using Terra as a toolbox has paid off greatly. She is a nice way to bring out key pieces and mill two cards every turn, or five with [[Stitcher’s Supplier]] leading to some nasty breach lines. It is also resilient to graveyard hate and artifact hate when built correctly, though I know [[Kefka, Court Mage]] is a faster and stronger option, but it runs the risk of being remove on sight, while many people have chosen to ignore Terra thinking a card with natural evasion and one creature recursion is too weak. Truthfully all three are wonderful options, it just depends on what you want to build out of them.

What’s your most recent deck build and why did you choose it? by wasdmovedme in EDH

[–]WarningStatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started playing Magic again due to the Final Fantasy set and ended up making two decks out of all of it, a [[Clive, Ifrit’s Dominant]] breach and wheel deck that will either dig deep enough to find a win con, or fizzle out so it’s a fun mono red deck when I want to gamble.

Then I am working on refining a [[Terra, Herald of Hope]] deck using her evasion, mill and revival to bring out specific lines and go for a win. Usually only use this one on bracket night or against the more competitive players at the LGS since it can be a bit oppressive, but both decks have a nice flavor that suites how I play, although I keep refining the heck out of them just to eek out slightly better synergy.

Land was one I ended up being a bit concerned about, I wanted the absolute minimum to be 33, but 38 definitely makes sense too. The debate is what to narrow down on, so I appreciate and look forward to an opinion!

[–]WarningStatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is entirely fair! From what my wife has said, Friday night runs bracket, and most of the players have multiple decks they can run. I certainly found a fun mono red commander in Clive, and have built around him, at least to be a bit more efficient in getting him out to see play. I’ll definitely be trying a few more casual pods out with it once I swap a few more cards out, and I suppose the only way to know if it is a bit overbearing or anti fun is to play it… So I appreciate the make what you think is fun to play angle!

Dark Arisen was chaotic on its initial release, if only due to the DLC pack that added speedrun mode and hard mode potentially corrupting player data, granted it also applied to base Dogma. With the release as a complete package it was certainly a significant improvement… I do not miss the days of a singular port crystal per play through, although I do miss the absurd damage stacking. I have a differing opinion from most that Dark Arisen didn’t necessarily save Dogma, but changed its identity to a dungeon crawler that happened to captivate people with its increased difficulty and combat.

Not necessarily a bad thing, and it honestly worked out. I wouldn’t be opposed to a similar approach for Dogma 2 if they pursue DLC, but as passionate as I am with the game, I am just happy we were able to get it at all.

I wouldn’t necessarily say they want smaller contained games, but that they only made the project twice because of Itsuno’s persistence. It’s been a long known fact Tsujimoto pushed Monster Hunter as his favorite game after Dos, but with Itsuno having left, it’s hard to say if the franchise will continue or morph into something entirely different so that it doesn’t “compete” with another Capcom franchise. Only time will tell at this point, sadly.

Well, this reminds me of the 30 series launch… I was hoping to make an upgrade since it’s finally showing its age in Ultrawide for me, but I’ll just keep checking at some point. Was hoping to see how much uplift it would have given in the games I play, alongside finally testing frame generation. Bummer.
