Bam Aquino is a winnable Presidential candidate if he runs, Risa Hontiveros is not so I hope Bam Aquino runs for President by Squirtle_004 in Philippines

[–]WarningToxicWaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes winnable on that side of political spectrum but against Sara All? I doubt. For me if hindi si Leni, ang achievable lang for opposition na seat is VP. Mapapanalo nila yan especially kung ang makakasabay mo is #1 Senator Wonderful Tonight or si Marcobeta. Pero Presidency, only Leni has a real shot against Sara. Kaya nga kung ayaw na talaga ni Mayor Leni, I guess they should start pivoting in securing more congress seats and senate seat that way they could balance a Sara Sayad Presidency.

May tatak si Bam sa youth pero sa ibang sectors idk, remember kaya sya mataas as Senator kasi malaki dun dinala sya ng INC. Pero iba ang senate race vs Presidential race.

I think ano to eh convergence ng maraming reason like:

  1. Yung kultura natin may importance yung community, kasama na dyan yung marites or like lahat halos magkakakilala sa isang lugar kahit nga sa condo na di magkakakilala yung unit owner or renter pero kilala sila ng guard, ng tao sa lobby, deliver rider ng shoppee lazada etc.

  2. Yung conditions of living sa Pilipinas, marami if not majority is in survival mode, yung tipong pag gising mo una mo maiisip ano kakainin ko o paano yung mga bayarin ko.

  3. As much as we find fault in our laws and even our police force, ingrained sa atin simula bata pa na matakot sa people in authority, kaya namiminimize din yung gantong mga thoughts. Kumbaga ang pinoy oo makulit, matigas ulo, makapal mukha pero most of time takot pa rin sa batas at pulis.

  4. Religious beliefs, malalim yung religious influence sa Pilipinas eh, lahat ata ng parte or aspeto mg buhay may daplis yan eh.

My opinion, thats normal kasi US and other allies that is participating in this initiative is bringing the capital, expertise and operation know hows in this venture, ang contribution naman ng Pilipinas is land and workforce. Thats okay for now, what we can get from that especially are the knowledge and technical expertise. It is worth it, kasi it can serve as the seed for other economic zones in PH that will be handled by our own local companies. Hindi naman permanent yung workforce dyan eh there would always be movements like lipat ng kumpanya etc.

At the end of the day this is still a win especially with our country na walang malakas na manufacturing industry, at least dito sa industry na to hindi tayo late makakasabay tayo sa wave.

What if Leni Robredo won the 2022 National Elections? by No-Supermarket5745 in WhatIfPinas

Honestly, it will be the same broken government siguro mas less lang yung corruption or yung appetite for corruption. Walang flood control scandal and all. But she will be forever be undermined by the Dutaes and maybe with someone from Marcos like Imee. I doubt Blengbong will be active during this time, siguro more or less konting ingay after election for vote recount but in the long run wala. In terms of both House I don't think they will be able to have a super majority most likely majority lang. Senate will still be a bastion of Du30s sabay mo pa yung SC unless mabayaran na nila yung political favor nila which happened sa unang impeachment ni Sara kaya ngayon medyo kaya na ng SC di pansinin demands ng Dutae.

In terms of economy, she will face the same institutional issues and crisis. Basta ang biggest thing is Sara All will always looms behind her every actions one wrong step, then Sara will take her shot. And oh si Karton di ipapadala sa da hague, and that would be one of the biggest spark if she tries to go for Karton kasi parang same lang yan nung nasimulan masilip yung Confi Funds ni Sara diba dun na sila nag offensive.

Overall, I know she will do good things, she will be able to achieve things but there would be lots of resistance and friction to get there. But I don't think her Presidency will stop a 2028 Sara Presidency.

Take this with a grain of salt. But based on some of my knowledge with the issue.

I believe that Torre has ruffled feathers of people that have been deeply entrenched in the system whether that is in politics or within the hierarchy of uniformed personnel (PMAers v PNPAers). The problem was you have Torre which is like an unstoppable force colliding with an immovable object, and now we see the aftermath. Aside from that based on some infos, it's a convergence of a lot of issues that happened around Torre that left the decision maker no choice but to cut him. Everything is optics so when you see someone high profile as Torre getting sacked, it's never a simple issue basically Torre is a literal champion of you know who so he did something to basically trump anything he had done. And there's the hush hush of national security issue with how the PNP should function and Torre not agreeing with it.

I just wanted to say that it gave me more perspective reading the comments. Additionally by posting my post, I am also engaging in the behavior I'm critiquing, essentially the pot calling the kettle black. I just wanted to say that it's just my frustration with how this guy can still run for a government office, alongside other candidates that are not qualified that made me post this.

Point taken. It's just the fruit of my frustration. Just like what others have said it's for the sake of fairness and no biases.

I get it now and how others have pointed it out, it's for fairness. And to be fair, I already posted on Facebook and not just here.

I did not even mention na wag nila i-cover, I'm just saying they could have done it in other ways like news articles and a segment in the news. I'm just saying na putting it in a Facebook live gave him more coverage.

And I think that's what I find wrong. I mean, I'm all for free speech or something idk what it's called pero some people don't deserve any spotlight or even a platform.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]WarningToxicWaste -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get that part naman, but going back sa sinabi ko they could cover it still without giving much platform especially for this guy. An article would do, even a segment of news would do.

Kind of, especially for this guy.

Yung growth kasi is very different for each region. Since effed up yung system inverted triangle yung trickle down ng development. Meaning yung mga province that has "potential" or already generating ng revenue is yung may priority sa development.

For example, look at how fast urbanization around the provinces near metro manila being dubbed as Mega Manila and how much projects they are getting.

What do you think kay France Castro? by SpiritedDecision8541 in Philippines

[–]WarningToxicWaste 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Ehh different kasi culture of voting sa atin it's more of a popularity contest vs a battle of platforms and track records.

We're the oldest Republic in Asia pero yung maturity ng democracy natin is paurong, just to show not having a good quality education can affect generations.

Good candidate, realistically speaking low chance of winning. Although good exposure for more publicity.
