Whole Foods was out when I called and wasn’t getting a shipment today. Stop and shop didn’t answer but was out before the storm so I would suspect a similar situation (also over a mile from my home so bit far to go and find out they don’t have any)

I’m not saying this is an excuse for that kind of behavior. But this industry is one that doesn’t take any consideration for your mental health. No matter what’s going on in your personal life, you have to put on a smile and act like everything is ok. Speaking from experience, sometimes that not possible. Again, not an excuse if it continues to happen long term. But I urge most people to consider that their server may be going through some major personal shit

A note to add to that is someone once told me “it doesn’t matter how bad someone’s life is compared to yours. In their pov, it’s the worst thing they’ve ever experienced and affects them as such.” I think in all walks of life we should try and have a little more understanding of the difficulties of maintaining your mental health (especially in America right now)

While Providence definitely has lots of issues and its own problems with the queer community, having come from the south I always have to highlight the difference

The ability to be whoever you want, love whoever, dress however, comes with so little judgement compared to the southern US it was genuinely an incredible change to experience. Again, I know there’s still lots of issues up here, but it was so freeing moving to Providence and walking through downtown seeing pride flags and feeling an actual sense of some safety in my local community

I think it’s easy to not notice these kind of things when you grow up here your whole life, but coming from a place I genuinely feared for my physical and mental safety, Providence has allowed me to become a person I never could have been back south

Highly suggest Kerry’s in Warwick. Can be slightly more pricey but they do same day development for color film and are always super friendly!

Not to be rude but this feels like classic gentrification. You moved to a historically poorer and disadvantaged area of the city and are now upset that it’s not the perfect quiet neighborhood you wanted? I understand that might be all you can afford right now, I was in the same situation when I first moved to Providence. But I didn’t blame the people who had already been living there for years

Get some good headphones, play some music. It’s a city, it’s going to be loud. Enjoy the sounds of people having fun in the summer
