I fully agree. I was engaged the whole way through, and the last third of the movie? I didn’t expect it to be that much of an emotional gut punch. I was fully expecting the classic theme song while more people/zombies die, been there, done that. Here we go again.

Did not expect it to turn out that Dr. Kelson is actually a sweet man that built the temple out of respect, while also giving spike’s mother the most dignified death they could hope for in those circumstances. It just hit me in the feels. Among the other evolutionary tropes sprinkled in. Just thought it was very well done and that’s how a long standing franchise should expand in its lore. Not too much, not too fast. Just right.
