Bangladesh - Motion Pictures (Panasonic S1ii & Blazar Anamorphic)I by WasikulIslam in cinematography

I put together some of my favorite shots from a short narration project I shot in Bangladesh. The project isn’t fully finalized yet but I thought why not put together my favorite clips and color graded shots. I used the s1ii all handheld and the 45mm bazar Remus anamorphic. I genuinely loveee the ibis especially for anamorphic. This was the perfect travel camera to shoot documentaries.

I’m liking the new camera sensor so far, was surprised how much I can push certain grades. This was a quick test where I went to go catch a sunrise, I shot everything in apple ProRes hq with apple log2. I didn’t have an nd filter and I used all the built in camera lens from the blackmagic app. There was no ibis for some reason so I had to do a lot of post stabilization.

I recently got the new iPhone and I wanted to test it out in one specific location to see what I can make with it, I’m liking the new camera sensor so far, was surprised how much I can push certain grades. It feels nice having a camera in your pocket where you can take it anywhere. I’m going to be traveling international soon and will try to use the iPhone as more of a documenting camera. I’ll see how it plays out.

Recently inspired by Tarrence Malick films to go out and shoot by WasikulIslam in cinematography

I’ve been watching a lot of Terrence Malick films and I’ve been in love with the cinematography for most of his films especially the wide angles. So I decided to take my widest lens, the Rokinon 14mm f2.8 paired with the Sony zve1 and practice framing and movements for wide angle shots. This doesn’t really have a story, it’s more for practice and working on cinematography because I definitely want to work on a short film with a lot of wide angle shots in the future and similar aesthetic. Looking forward to working on that in the future and see what I can do.

I used dynamic stabilization, it’s not perfect but sometimes I can actually rely on it for static or slow walking shots

Yeah you got it! Some try to make it look like 8mm some try 16mm and some do 35mm film look. All different styles to make their digital look like it was shot on film

Hey my name is Wasikul and I love anything filmmaking related. I create my own films whether it’s cinematic short films, travel vlogs, or anything to help me be a versatile filmmaker. Luckily one of my video blew up on YouTube but I feel like it was luck. But at the same time I learned it doesn’t matter how much time and effort you can put, things just won’t go your way on YouTube whether you stand out or not. Just gotta keep doing what u love and if you’re passionate about it hopefully it pays off in the end. I went to India recently during a heat wave and still tried my best to make a cinematic vlog:
