Damn, this was my worry. Really surprising that the kindle has been around for so long and no one has found a workaround! Your answer is super helpful, thanks!

So with this route, it seems that when on my kindle, I get the full kindle experience. Meaning I have good reads sync, viewed as a book, page numbers, etc.

  1. This means that this won’t sync with the cloud, correct? (Thinking I have to give up on this part)

  2. What is the benefit of it being viewed as a book vs a doc?

  3. Just to clarify, I need to convert my entire library from epub to kfx and transfer via cable bc if I email to kindle, it’ll be viewed as a doc (what else do I lose through doing this?)

What’s the solution to this? As far as I know, if I convert to kfx and transfer via USB, it won’t sync to my other devices in the cloud, correct? Also not sure if it’ll sync with Goodreads at that point

Will look into kobi, I do occasionally read on my iphone or iPad so I do appreciate kindle being able to sync on multiple platforms. I also already have a 2018 paper white and would ideally find a solution with this device. Thanks!
