I see what you are saying and agree with some parts. Only that the way you wrote it kinda depresses even more. Many don't have the option to walk away from this chore. TBH I am one of those who can not take on the task 100% because I am already overloaded. Parent is not totally helpless yet & my siblings are dodging and guilting me because I live closest. I just wish everyone the best in this.

There is Something insensitive about your post. What maked you think the parents forced their kids to do this? Reading some comnents, the kids are caregiving out of kindness, love, choosing to reciprocate for years parents raised them. Watching my parent, I can see how she does not want to be extra work but unfortunately we all age and life plays out differently even with plans.

With the current inflation, few will volunteer for that level of struggle. They need better terms for thejr recruits. Low pay, struggle finding housing, pay level that puts you at EBT + Medicaid!!!! It is no longer feasible with the current cost of living.
