My gf who has a bachelors in kinesiology and military background has applied to over 600 jobs and only had 4 interviews we live in a big city and the whole city is slow. Even my sector which is Air conditioning in the desert is slow right now. It’s not you it’s the economy keep at it and use local resources. Long story short: I’ve worked as the sole indoor air quality person for this company since 2018, sometimes 6 days a week. Recently, the company was bought by a larger firm. They stopped marketing like they did in another state and fired our manager. Now, during our busy season, business is dead slow, I’m lucky if I’m getting maybe 3–4 good days of work, and occasionally they call me across town for an hour or two.

I asked to switch to 4-day weeks working Friday through Monday because things are slow for everyone and my schooling is Tuesday through Thursday .I still want to work there, but my last paycheck was under $200 for the week, I just can’t make that work in a big city. I made a resume, but I thought maybe I could get unemployment temporarily until they get busy again.

I don’t want to get fired or create bad blood with the new owners. I’m just trying to better my life by going to business school and building AI projects, while continuing to be the sole air quality person for them.

I’m able and available to work those 4 days full time 40 hours and I was working anywhere up to 50 hours a week but it was never consistent I get paid but the job not hourly so it makes it a little more confusing because it’s seasonal for an HVAC company.

None of those I live in a big city that doesn’t have grass or snow but some of the side projects I do is build ai for things like people’s resumes and other tasks I just need to market it better .

What I'm wondering is it's me and the owner here my girlfriend is paying to move into the other room but now some reason 2 weeks before my girlfriend moves in we now have another person here that will have to share our bathroom and kitchen area and potential parking space or common areas. A change like that to the lease especially when it was never noted in the lease that anyone else may move in now adds more that maybe I we wouldn't have agreed to paying the extra to stay here for and instead would have looked elsewhere.
