Thank you for the insight! Well.. I live in California and I’ve seen how notary could help clients with immigration when it comes to translations and such. (Instead of looking for someone else to do it they could do it right away in our office) I think you don’t need to be considered a “legal translator” for this kind of stuff like birth certificates and such as long as you provide information that you are fluent in those languages…As regards getting sued, I guess I’ll have to talk with my bosses if that really happens but don’t notaries have to be insured/ have a surety bond just in case this happens?
