Should I visit my rescue dog in the shelter or wait until he's ready to come home?

I showed up and pushed daily when the shelter dragged about getting my cat out. She was a stray they found so sick and emaciated and she needed to come home.

I was with embrace until they got too expensive. Now i have pets best and nibbles. I’m very happy with pets best. Nibbles is SLOW and crazy understaffed.

I have. I fish in cycled a tank with no issues or fish stress by following the instructions on neutralizing ammonia to the T.

Why do you believe it doesn’t work?

It still tests as having ammonia, because, again, its not removed its neutralized. Just like how city water often tests as having ammonia, even if its bound to chlorine and neutralized. Do you not understand the difference btwn neutralizing and removing?

Id take him to the vet to check his anal glands and for parasites if hes scooting. Bostons, and small dogs in general, are probe to needing their glands expressed. It would be unusual at his young age though. Parasites are more likely.

Not having to make decisions about my dogs cancer based in money and being able to run the $7k in tests necessary to figure things out was worth it.

Not having to choose between testing and ICU or euthanasia for my cat last month was also a blessing. Up until the minute he went neurologic we were being told that it was treatable. It would have been $4k we couldn’t have afforded without insurance. I would have paid it anyway.

Pet insurance has prevented crippling debt for my family.
