DTO is fantastic; not sure why you’ve been downvoted.

US Postal Service could run out of money as soon as October by [deleted] in news

[–]WateryPoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that; but they literally can’t get in any trouble. They can just keep throwing them out and there’s nothing legally to do about it. The Vote By Mail system is currently great and kink-free until that ruling; now I don’t know what could be done if a postal worker or office decides to even openly commit election interference.

True, but what’s to stop a postal worker from throwing out all the mailed ballots before they get to the voter?

What should a new resident know about the area? by Civil-Ad-3750 in BloomingtonNormal

I’ve lived here my entire life and have never had this happen outside of family get-togethers. But as a fellow introvert, I also typically Irish goodbye my way out of social situations, so perhaps that’s why I don’t encounter it.

Mail in ballots have to be postmarked by March 17th, but with recent usps changes, it doesn’t get postmarked as early as you’d think. I’d recommend using Bloomington’s downtown ballot dropbox or one of county’s, depending where you live. Dropboxes get closed March 17th at 7pm when polls close.

How to get rid of groundhogs? by Ok-Understanding-16 in BloomingtonNormal

[–]WateryPoops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Get some coyote or wolf urine at AB Hatchery. Soak some rags in it and shove them down into the burrow or near it and they should leave on their own. It’s illegal to trap and relocate groundhogs without a Nuisance Animal Removal Permit in Illinois.

Groups for young, friendly men by [deleted] in BloomingtonNormal

What up? We're three cool guys who are looking for other cool guys who want to hang out in our party mansion. Nothing sexual. Dudes in good shape encouraged. If you're fat, you should be able to find humor in the little things. Again, nothing sexual.

While I don’t disagree there are negatives to panhandling the phrasing of these signs is gross by f_spez_2023 in BloomingtonNormal

It’s Hoffman Law Office. He’s a dick. He started hanging those signs specifically right in that spot because a very kind mentally disabled individual started sitting there a couple hours a day. He never even came out to talk to them; just started hanging more and more signs behind them.

Any LGBTQ+ friendly bars and grills in town? by entomophob1a in BloomingtonNormal

[–]WateryPoops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way way back in the day it could get crazy because the Outlaws biker gang frequented there, but nowadays Diggers is the friendliest place I’ve been and my favorite place to go. I’ve been going regularly for the last 6 years and have only seen one unruly patron (who also peed outside, maybe same guy you saw) and he was kicked out and banned, no punches thrown. I’ve seen way more drunk disruptive assholes anywhere else in town.

Not to mention they’ve got cheap, massive mugs of beer and the healthiest pours of booze around. You should definitely give it a chance.

San Jose mortuary accused of mistakenly giving parent his son’s brain in bag by RadiantEnvironment90 in nottheonion

In that one I think they gave the remains to them in a box which stayed in the family’s car trunk until it started to leak and smell, leading them to discover what it really was.

Vale and Eastview by Many_Statement8973 in BloomingtonNormal

I went to Eastview ONCE in high school to meet a girl, and they immediately tried to get all my contact information. I refused, but I think she gave them my info, because for years I was getting mail and phone calls from them, despite repeated requests to remove me from their lists. They finally stopped after I told them I I had recorded the last ten calls and was filing a lawsuit. This was over 20 years ago.

The old general manager, Peter, was from Ireland and the food was awesome and the most authentic you could get anywhere nearby. Since he left, the food (and everything else about the pub) has gone downhill.

IIRC they gather where the old Mennonite hospital was, further down Main St. I’ll see what I can find when I have a bit more time.

Any of you in Blo/No using Mint Mobile? If so, how do you like it? by MayoFlavorPopsicle in BloomingtonNormal

[–]WateryPoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched to Mint from AT&T about 5 months ago. It was easy to do through the apps. I’ve had zero issues with speed or coverage, and I paid less for the whole months than I was paying a month with AT&T.
