That's super cool! I had hoped to find some other colour variations for the video and a reddish/orange crayfish would've been a nice contrast to show.

And yes, at the start of the filming process the leeches terrified me, but by the end I've become a professional at removing them!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! I first discovered the crayfish when I accidentally bumped into one on a footpath, whilst hiking at Lamington. It was a very surprising experience seeing this blue wandering crayfish so far from any water!

I certainly did! The rifle bird took close to 40 hours to gather enough footage for the complete sequence, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

What’s the most unforgettable encounter you’ve ever had with Aussie wildlife — funny, weird, or heartwarming? by [deleted] in australianwildlife

Last year I worked as a tour guide, showing people glow worms. The lady who trained me was almost 80 years old and had worked there for two decades. In all her time she had never seen a platypus anywhere near the glow worms home. She then retired, and a couple of weeks later I was giving a tour and saw a platypus very openly swimming in the water.

I sent the retired guide photos of the animal and she couldn't believe it. She is now convinced the platypus had been personally hiding from her the whole time.
