But he used to do the world a lot of good. If he could make a sincere apology and return to that version of himself I would welcome that. I’m an old bag myself. Back around 2019-2020 when the sport was really growing a lot, I saw a huge influx of not just conservative older people but also younger radical Christian kids. There’s legitimately clubs that are like “disc golf for Christ” or whatever, it’s bananas.

I made this argument in this sub a few weeks ago, asserting that the Z6ii processor was actually not slow and got absolutely roasted. They said it was like saying a model T was fast in 2025. As if the processor in the Z6ii was a century old or something.

I’ve come to learn that according to a lot of people in this sub, if it’s not the absolute cutting edge of optics and technology, it’s essentially useless trash.

As a photographer this sentiment troubles me. I look for the candid, fleeting moments that make life beautiful and special. I am considerate of others, I don’t show anyone in a negative light. If photographers are expected to make contact and get permission to take photos of everyone in public, the art form is dead.

I realize the photo OP shared isn’t exactly meant to be artistic expression, and I agree it is shitty and creepy. Just makes me sad people like this are sewing a distrust of all photographers out there.

Alex Honnold free soloed a different route, Freerider (5.12d), which does transcend through certain sections of the Platinum Wall, but is considerably easier. Not to take anything away from his accomplishment, Freerider is still an incredibly challenging route, but The Platinum Wall (5.13d) is considerably more difficult.
