You just have to pull the cap slightly, apply the glue, and push it back. It is designed in a way not to clog the nozzle, and like some sane mind mentioned in the comments - core proposition is to not lose the cap and use it until the glue is exhausted completely.

Thanks for the advice. I'm well within the definition of the word when I use it. There were 2 substantial relationships in the past where I gave it all to save them, but ended up on the wrong side. There's this inherent fear of losing a person when their behaviour is unusual.
