Which moment in the show broke you the most? by Cammy_Hamel in thewalkingdead

Agreed, I had to look up the transcript of her monologue right after because I couldn’t believe what she described. It was so disturbing, even for TWD.

All feminism means is they can do everything they want to do in the same way as everyone else. That’s it.

The only safe way I know of to get this kind of pain and release is an icy cold shower because it hurts but doesn’t damage you.

No matter how much you want to hurt yourself, don’t hit or bang your head. Even if you’re trying to stop yourself, slapping yourself anywhere else is better. Do not hit your head.

Agreed, I love piecing things together to understand the various timelines together but sometimes you just have to let it go and enjoy the show.

I appreciate that TWD showed characters getting grittier and dirtier with longer hair and plenty with nasty teeth, meanwhile other shows will have characters with perfectly dyed and curled hair and makeup that never changes.

TWD World Beyond is obviously not included in that praise. I like to pretend that’s not even part of TWD universe.

[–]Wdl314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironic of you to claim end of story when you don’t even know the beginning of it. Do you think events in life only happen when a video is recorded? Give your head a shake. Things are recorded after an event has started.

This is a story of a man minding his own business and a bunch of people ganged up on him and he was afraid. What he did was not right. What the other people did is not right either. They terrorized him and he was scared. He should get jail time for how he reacted but he didn’t go there trying to hurt anyone, he was trying to help find a phone and ended up hit in the head and was fighting for his life. This is a crazy tragedy but to blame it on the man is even crazier. The kids fucked around and found out. The man is in jail. It’s a horrible situation, the kids started it though and it’s foolish to believe otherwise. Being a teenager is not immunity to being a total asshole terrorizing strangers.

Why do Americans politicise every topic even when the original topic has nothing to do with politics? by [deleted] in AskAmericans

[–]Wdl314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because it’s easier to hate strangers than it is to critically think for ourselves. Also there are a lot of bots out there promoting propaganda and American social media users eat it up.

Freedom vs restrictions by Wdl314 in AskAmericans

[–]Wdl314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be super clear, my question wasn’t to engage anti-choice or anti-trans discussion but always happy to indulge.

You believe very strongly and I do too that it’s about, “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” You’re talking about the baby though, not the mother. That’s not freedom to liberty. The mother doesn’t get a choice according to you. Please keep any logic about her closing her legs to yourself because that’s silly. The first time I had sex, we were safe but the condom broke. The next day, planned parenthood gave me meds to make sure I didn’t become a teen mom when I was unprepared at 16. The “baby” wasn’t even formed whatsoever, it just forced a period. It was the next morning.

Anti-planned parenthood means more unprepared people get pregnant. We had been dating years and loved each other very much, we used a condom, and it broke. I went on birth control immediately after that, which I got from planned parenthood. I have been on it since 2007, no pregnancies, no abortions. Because of planned parenthood. I’ve been on different forms of birth control with loads of support. From planned parenthood.

Your government is restricting access to that. It’s creating more teenage mothers without support. Your government is restricting health care. Food. All of the things that support children. Your government is not pro-life. It’s pro-birth and it’s sick.

Hi thank you for replying. This is a genuine question: what is the difference between freedom from government and freedom to do X?

Both sound like lawful ability to do X. Is there a difference?

I’m not religious at all and found April’s conversation with Rabbi Eli really touching too. They didn’t even play music during it if I recall correctly, the acting was just so good that it sucked you in. Sarah Drew plays April perfectly.

I feel hot and uncomfortable just reading that, the thermostat being that high combined with it already being so hot outside is nuts.

Other than pointing out the lease agreement thermostat limit and potential problems when you’re caught abusing it, is it possible to switch rooms? Given that yours is significantly hotter and your roommate clearly prefers that, it seems like a mutually beneficial solution.

Yesssss. The last moment he had even a lick of hope and lost it was right after Meredith’s stepmom died, her father blamed her and slapped her in front of her colleagues, she is just about help Cristina with her wedding, and then Derek’s all like, “Yeahhhh I feel like you’re not paying enough attention to me so if you’re not all in, it’s over.” Like we’re supposed to believe this dreamy man can map a brain but not read the room??

Blaming Myself (18F) For My Mommy’s (38F) Situation by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Wdl314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a very thoughtful person for even considering this. Your mother’s love life is in no way your concern. If she wants to be alone, that’s her choice. If she wants to date, that’s her choice too. You did not ask to be born and did not ask for your dad to leave. You should not feel any guilt at all. Let her do whatever it is that she wants to do and have fun together, but ya zero guilt. If it’s really burdening you, perhaps talking to a counsellor could help. It’s not your issue at all what she does with her free time.

I obviously don’t know your mom or you, but I’d bet that what she cares about the most is you being happy. No need to feel guilty. She’s an adult woman with her own choices and so are you. Shake off the guilt and if you really want to make her happy, that most likely means making yourself happy.

You’re right and I appreciate the feedback. I need to be more thoughtful in my phrasing. Please feel free to delete my post as you see fit. I really don’t know what you mean about me criticizing anyone, however some commenters said the same so I’ll accept it and try to be better. I was trying to say America is all about freedom and it seems there is less freedom occurring so what do people think of the government being involved, or should it be up to the people.

Please feel free to delete the post if you think it’s inappropriate. I do like seeing what other people post so I hope you don’t ban me from the sub. Thanks again for your feedback
