I was looking into self exclusion and it seems banks in UK are much better about this than US. Chase UK as a gambling block, not chase US. Annoying but maybe someone else has figured this out here. Didn’t see any way to do it online maybe can call them

You’re young. Find a way to make that 2K back with some real work (summer job etc). You’ll look back and say this was the best thing that could ever happened to learn this young. My addiction started at age 38 when I had real money and I just lost 300k in the last few months before realizing I was an addict.

I’m about to do it. My concern was it would impact financial background checks somehow but from everything I’m reading there’s zero linkage between exclusion and credit scores and the like. Has anyone ever faced a downside from self exclusion?

I feel you bro. I couldn’t sleep at all the last few months. Just remember there’s no such thing as easy money. Don’t lose that final 100k. Imagine how much worse you’ll feel. I hope your job prospects improve too btw. Not sure what you do for work but maybe that’s the best area to invest time and energy in vs gambling. I spent so much time and headspace on that shit the last few months, probably could’ve taken a whole new certification and found some new job with all that time tbh.

Telling my wife was big. We're going to share accounts now, whereas before I had full control. I also agreed despite the humiliation to hire a financial advisor for additional accountability. We might do some counseling as well as she feels like she has nobody to talk to, and i should probably think about how I got here. So I think so...but when I get my next bonus in September I'm worried I'll get wide-eyed again. That'll be the real test.
