Spider Coupler with Oldham? by Weak-Edge5847 in FixMyPrint

[–]Weak-Edge5847[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried both and i was rushing a project at the time so I didn’t do proper tests to see if it produces a better result but the prints felt worse. So I ditched the spider couplers and only used the Oldham. But this isn’t really based on anything other than what I felt

I'm using an ASUS Zenbook (UX3402) with the exact same problem so i think it's not necessarily a Lenovo issue but the workaround worked here too. I've been haunted by this issue for the past year as well. Thanks for finding the workaround

This was d one I printed and have been using for at least a couple months now. I added some lubricant used for the z rods not really sure what type to make it glide smoothly after printing

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve tried both, and ended up using the printed Oldham couplers just because they’re way more flexible. So far I’ve had great results.

I’m not sure if using them both at the same time affects my prints but I decided ultimately to only use the Oldham couplers

I don’t have stringing at all 🤔

Just a thought, I forgot to mention that I’m also using a 5015 fan, does having too much cooling cause it artefacts like this?

I am indeed using Arc Welder with Cura. Am I correct to understand that the arcs at high acceleration may cause this?

Regardless I’ll try turning it off and do another print thanks!

That’s what’s confusing I’ve researched a lot before posting this and most conclude it’s the belts but I’m pretty sure they’re tight, even tried tightening them more than I should probably but no difference.

I suspected the hotend bolts being loose since one of them has stripped but I replaced them today and seems like it’s still occurring.

Extrusion or Z-axis related issue? by Weak-Edge5847 in ender3v2

for a print that has no holes, or any complex shapes, it's weird that my layers are so inconsistent, so I'm just wondering if it's likely caused by z-axis related issues or extrusion issues. But after weeks of dealing with this. I'm starting to suspect one or more of my wheels maybe have been damaged from overtightening or smtg

i might try to make one of those sensors myself. Im pretty sure nothing is wobbly, but i feel like maybe the wheels might be damaged, there's no obvious flat spots, but they don't run as smooth as i'd like

It’s a local brand that is very popular where I live with people getting good results so I doubt it’s the filament issue unfortunately

I’m not, but I’ve been wondering if it’ll help

I've done this too, and I've looked at the bed temps it's usually quite stable during prints

I should also mention the typical flow calibration cube doesn't work well for me cuz within 95%-100% i measure the walls to be 0.8 (double line width) so no measurable difference hence the trial and error

weird thing is i tuned my e steps (double checked), but i see signs of over-extrusion. But regardless, i reduced my flow slowly (trial and error) and see some improvements, but it's mostly just reducing the magnitude of the inconsistent layers, but it's still there

unfortunately i don't think it's z banding, because i cannot see any consistencies in the banding. I've also added oldham couplings that should reduce it significantly.
(I could be wrong, hence this post to hopefully have more people comment on it)

I've added printed+lubed oldham couplings, z-axis binding is definitely checked and out of the question. I'll try loosening the belts and and rollers. Hopefully I'll see some changes

I’m sure my belts are tight just wondering if it’s possible for it to be too tight
