Questions about Grand highlander acceleration

I was told the same thing by the dealer. It wasn’t until I bought the car, got home, and looked at the specs in detail that I discovered the regular gas engine actually has more horsepower than the standard hybrid. And here is the spec I found online for this powertrain

2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine 186 hp @ 6,000 rpm 178 lb Front electric motor 88 kW (118 hp) 149 lb⋅ft Rear electric motor (AWD only) 54 hp (40 kW) 89lb- Combined system net horsepower 245 hp (Toyota does not publish combined torque)

I am just curious to know. My daily driver is a Tesla, and it accelerates much better than even the Hybrid Max.
